Ibiza rocks 2008 - the last sunset

The Ibiza experience reached dizzy new heights in 2008 with the grand opening of the island's very first rock 'n' roll hotel - The Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

Pool parties went off the hook as the sun beat down, the beats boomed and guitars soundtracked the starry nights and glorious summer days.

The Enemy kicked off the season with a truly momentous live set and it just kept getting better: the highlights rocked and the good times rolled with more top notch sets than we can even remember from the likes of Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, The Courteeners, Iglu & Hartly, Ladyhawke, The Wombats, Black Kids, Pendulum, The Fratellis, Reverend & The Makers, We Are Scientists, One Night Only, The Pigeon Detectives and more.

The Enemy enjoyed their first show so much they returned for a stunning second set later in the season!

Incredible DJ sets came thick and fast thanks to 2MANYDJS, Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, The Arctic Monkeys and White Island legends Steve Aoki and Doorly.

The hotel hosted unmissable Weekenders courtesy of our good friends Snowbombing and Xbox. Even BBC Radio 1 dropped in for a historic weekender and beamed the whole thing back to Blighty, giving the folks at home a taste of the good times they'd been missing.

The hotel itself rocked around the clock with the help of resident bands like The Hungover Stuntmen, OK Tokyo and The Clik Clik and in-house DJ's Doorly and Cassette Jam. Mike Cuban kept everyone smiling with his Comedy night. Club NME made the indie kids get down and Manumission quite literally owned the place.

Looking back with sore heads and big smiles, 2008 was undoubtedly the year of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel... and, believe it or not, this is just the beginning.

We started planning Ibiza Rocks 2009 right from the last sunset of 2008 and we know you're gonna love it.

The fun begins in June with main event tuesday night gigs running all the way through till early September.

Ive booked a normal room for me and 9 mates staying at the hotel does this mean we get free tickets? Or is only the pool view rooms, if so that kinda sucks. Ill just have to get friendly with some richer folk in the hotel who can fork out a extra 150 for a pool view ;/

We're so happy you could all be a part of the awesome 2008 season - it's impossible to pick highlights but the opening night of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel with The Enemy (in the first of 2 summer sets) and Zane Lowe set a pretty high standard.

Add to that storming Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson shows from the likes of The Streets, The Zutons, Black Kids, Sam Sparro, The Courteeners, Soulwax, Fratellis, Dizzee Rascal and the huge finale from Pendulum, Iglu & Hartly and The Whip and 2008 turned out just fine. Radio 1 weekend was pretty special too...

As incredible as it was, we're working harder than ever in the UK and Ibiza to make sure 2009 is going to be even better. We've seen so many bands and DJs we are sure you'll be excited about as well as talking some old friends into returning for another gig under the stars.

First off at Ibiza Rocks Travel we're keeping prices low with rooms available for as little as £10 per person, per night.

New for 2009 are the pool and stage view rooms; stay on a Tuesday night and watch an Ibiza Rocks gig with your mates from your own private balcony. It's like being the Queen just without the funny hats. And should you feel the need to join the crowd below, you'll be able to go to and from the main arena anytime you like! It's the only way to spell V.I.P. As you can guess these are already proving very popular.

We'll be announcing the first set of Ibiza Rocks confirmed acts in the early part of '09 so stay tuned.

On top of that we are looking at as many ways as possible to make sure your whole Ibiza stay is as fine as is humanly possible - that means the best pool parties, club ticket deals and general Ibiza Rocks hospitality all day, every day.
