Ibiza Parties 2009 season start - Any comments/reviews yet?

haha!

Ahhhh, this age old adage. Lets look at this thread in more detail

Reference to "Beerboys": Check
Reference to "Same Shirts": Check
Cliched Reference to stumbling around: Check
Reference to being obnoxious: Check
Picking fights: Check

Now - that was possibly the sole most cliched, tired, old, dull response I could possibly think of. Could you be any more sweeping in your statements!!?

The people who i've ever had issues with regard to one too many disco biscuits has ALWAYS been the "in the know" set, usually taking drugs cos they think its cool. The people you are speaking of, as in the younger element who go to the West End....

Well i've been going to ibiza since 1998, every year. Not ONCE have i had any trouble from people having a drink in san antonio. Yes they are loud, yes they're drunk. Are they dangerous? No. Are they a bit silly? For sure.

This demographic dont go to clubs. They do not want to spend 60 quid to get into pacha. They want to get hammered and go to Play2.

The people who you think are the "beerboys" i bet are the ones from PdB, the very ones who think they are mustard cos they are listening to Morillo, naming tracks as he goes.

You need to revisit your opinions mate.

The only trouble ive ever had in Ibiza, has been from locals, overbearing doormen, or ****ing nobheads telling how "they were there" in 96 listening to Orbital in a field in hertfordshire, having banged a **** load of Ket.

Thats where you get your attitude - the people who cant handle their drugs.

Contrary to popular opinion it isnt the "Beerboys" you speak of. I actually did a report for a well known British television company about this that took two years to compile.

Let me tell you one thing. The violence in Ibiza and drunkeness in the main is not from the young British demographic who stay in San Antonio. You'd be suprised to hear that 78% of complaints and police arrests actually come from the scandinavian contigent, staying in guess where.....

....Playa Den Bossa.

I really don't have to justify my argument with you, I don't care if you think I'm cliched or whatever... its cliched because it happens therefore lots of ppl use the same argument. So you say the demographic I'm speaking of don't want to spend the 60 euros going clubbing, and what I'm saying is that that's fine with me. I'd rather have the 'pretentious, snobby people' in the clubs minding their own business than the drunk losers paying the 60 euros coming in and being idiots. And for the record, I always choose to stay in San An because I like the sunset strip. I stay away from the westend because I don't like that crowd and I don't like that crowd in the clubs with me. The funny thing about your posts is that you mention San Antonio, PdB and all that when I NEVER mentioned it once in my original post. My post was about I'd rather have the 'snobs' than the 'obnoxious drunks' in the clubs with me. But for your arguments on the different areas of Ibiza, all I know is that I've seen fights and had fights picked with me in San An, on the way to Eden and inside Eden and Es Paradis. At Space, Pacha, Amnesia, Bora Bora, I've seen nothing of the sort nor been involved in anything negative. So you can tell me all you want about me revisiting my opinions, I've seen what I've seen and experienced it first-hand and that's justification for my opinion. You can try to force your opinion onto everyone and tell everybody else they are wrong if you want to waste your time doing that. I'm done debating this with you. It's back to the positivity of Ibiza for me.

As much as Toms is talking out of his hairy sweaty buttcrack I must point out that I have had and seen major beef while in PDB I have been harrassed and a girl attacked me once so lets not be judgemental or predujiced or make stereotypes its not all airy fairy we all love each other and neither is it full of snobs or posers plenty of scruffy ratbags so no-one should feel left out lol

i don't get it guys.
just saw the Dancetrippin video of Space Opening Fiesta with Deadmau5 on the decks - it looks simply a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

but if i come here to look for some reviews - i just read people's bitching about how over packed or what ever it was...

isn't it ment to be crowded when talkin about opening/closing parties or the big parties in ibiza at all?...

stop fighting and answer my question :)

Haha sorry! Well yeah generally the big parties are very crowded, but some go way overboard than just crowded. Space opening is one of them apparently (I've never been). I remember back in 04 when PVD and Tiesto were still headlining Cream together, it was ridiculous how packed it was in there, way over capacity and then when they shut the 2nd room, its pure madness. So yeah prepare for the big big parties to be packed from pillar to post. Some people dont' mind that as much as others so you have to decide for yourself whether to go to them :D

i havent been there yet but i was told that june is slightly quieter than july-august. so it shouldnt be too packed, but i am guessing the crowd is starting to pick up as july approaches.

haha
let's say it was a rhetorical question just to stop your unnecessary fight :)

there is no place for such things here & especially in ibiza itself :!: ;)

hehe it seems like my "stupid rhetorical question" has put me in an ibiza-virgin status when i'm actually NOT! :)
it will be my second trip to the island this year after the amazing closings from 2008 which i've attended as u ve already understood :)

anyway, i am just trying to say that u can't complain that its too crowded coz its ment to be that way especially in opening or closing parties...

u know it's even kinda strange coz from what i've seen in that video there was actually some space between people and they danced freely there, it was filmed mostly in front of the dj spot on the flight club so it actually doesnt seem to be over crowded at all - or it was like that only in some areas of the party...?

Best thing ever was when I was at Cream for PVD and as usual, it was packed except for this amazing spot I found near the washrooms of the mainroom right by the bar and the air conditioning!! Plenty of room to dance, drinks right there and A/C!! Unbeatable!!!

Honnestly this discussion makes me cringe. All of you guys are basically the same, you all go to Ibiza to hear some 'in' dj play teh same tunes all over again, and be part of the mass. PDB San Antonio crowd what all you guys got in common is that you just see the clubbing side of the island. Ofcourse its a known fact that San An attracks the more younger crowd, from the English contingent, many of them so called beerboys whatever. And in PDB are many Italians with oversized gucci glasses and all that. But bottom of line is all of you are the same, missing out on the beauty what Ibiza really is. I would rather spend my money in any chiringuito then in those clubs you all mentioned, being part of the herd. There you will find old timers, artists, stoners, hippies, people who dont belong to the clubbing crowd. Try to experience the real Ibiza, feel the island instead of complaining about the money making machines that the clubs are.
