Ibiza Parties 2009 season start - Any comments/reviews yet?

Each to their own mr toms
Everyone has their own reason for going to ibiza just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it right. You pay your money you take your chance.
It would be very boring if everyone was the same.

I would much rather have the group "thinking they are in the know" than the loud beerboys who are all wearing the same shirts, chanting random football songs, spilling drinks everywhere, stumbling into everyone and being plain obnoxious, in the clubs with me. People who stand in the guestlist line and try to look good don't bother me because they aren't coming up to me trying to pick a fight or dance with my girlfriend or speaking incoherently because they've popped 3 too many pills. And even those people that are trying too hard to be elite, they are still nice when you are nice to them.

...Space ... Place was ridiciusly packed ... Wanted to go to Terrace but far too packed for comfort ... Toilet Q was ridiculous which i know is the norm for us ladies but was pretty bad for the gents too ... dancefloor but just started to get ridiciously ... Lesson learned I wouldnt go back for the Opening -place far too packed and didnt get to see a few DJ's that I really wanted to ...
defo wont bother with a Space Opening again ...
forget this ridiculous mass-party ... the official start of the 2009-season
and the hottest openingparty so far is without any doubt ...

... the day katie p. popped up

haha!

Ahhhh, this age old adage. Lets look at this thread in more detail

Reference to "Beerboys": Check
Reference to "Same Shirts": Check
Cliched Reference to stumbling around: Check
Reference to being obnoxious: Check
Picking fights: Check

Now - that was possibly the sole most cliched, tired, old, dull response I could possibly think of. Could you be any more sweeping in your statements!!?

The people who i've ever had issues with regard to one too many disco biscuits has ALWAYS been the "in the know" set, usually taking drugs cos they think its cool. The people you are speaking of, as in the younger element who go to the West End....

Well i've been going to ibiza since 1998, every year. Not ONCE have i had any trouble from people having a drink in san antonio. Yes they are loud, yes they're drunk. Are they dangerous? No. Are they a bit silly? For sure.

This demographic dont go to clubs. They do not want to spend 60 quid to get into pacha. They want to get hammered and go to Play2.

The people who you think are the "beerboys" i bet are the ones from PdB, the very ones who think they are mustard cos they are listening to Morillo, naming tracks as he goes.

You need to revisit your opinions mate.

The only trouble ive ever had in Ibiza, has been from locals, overbearing doormen, or ****ing nobheads telling how "they were there" in 96 listening to Orbital in a field in hertfordshire, having banged a **** load of Ket.

Thats where you get your attitude - the people who cant handle their drugs.

Contrary to popular opinion it isnt the "Beerboys" you speak of. I actually did a report for a well known British television company about this that took two years to compile.

Let me tell you one thing. The violence in Ibiza and drunkeness in the main is not from the young British demographic who stay in San Antonio. You'd be suprised to hear that 78% of complaints and police arrests actually come from the scandinavian contigent, staying in guess where.....

....Playa Den Bossa.

....Playa Den Bossa.

"How they were there" bit ironic coming from you and your space back in the day stuff!

You are in no way part of the "DJing culture". You are someone who knows the names of tunes.

End. Of. Story.

Dont try and pretend you know what you're talking about. Its painful.

Shut up! Pro's DJ & I DJ, We both enjoy it. You don't even know me so don't even bother trying to tell me what music I like etc.

Pros are famous & im not, That's the only difference.

At the end of the day I go to Ibiza to enjoy the weather, watch the DJ's perform and listen to quality music. Does it really matter what kind of person you are??? Ibiza is a friendly place without judging people... Well it is to me.

I half English, half Spanish and even the Spanish respect the tourists in PDB more Bcos it attracts a slightly more Mature, Euro crowd.

anyway...

so is the PDB crowd alot more "posh" than the San an crowd? i thought aside fomr Jetts it was pretty much a ghost town[/QUOTE]

I only stay in PDB and I'm not posh and I get wasted on anything I go out looking like a pussycat doll I come home looking like Dot Cotton on wonkey donkey

Even if it really isn't "as good as it was in the old days", even if some of the spirit has died, even if it is more coporate and cliched (and even as someone who didn't get the chance to visit Ibiza in the "good old days", I suspect that is probably the case), Ibiza is still the only place where you can look at what's going on any given night and be forced to choose between Armin Van Buuren and Carl Cox, between Sven Vath and the Swedish House Mafia, between PvD and Guy Gerber. Yes, there are alternatives, but if you really are passionate about dance music in the here and now, particularly dance music as a whole and not just one specific underground style, you look at the line ups and want to be there.

In Ibiza there are more people per head as obsessed about dance music as I am than anywhere else I know on the planet. That's what I love about the place.

Lol Phil don't believe people who say 'everything was better back in the day' that is just a metaphor for 'I am past it now so everything seems crap' .. I am not very young to put it politely and I can honestly say things change , and I like the changes. In fact I prefer the now to the 90's and as for the 80's sorry I'm not that ancient I can't comment. Some people go beyond 30 or 40 and still try to hang around with youngsters but find it hard to accept its their time so they do the Uncle Albert when I was in the war bolliks. They didn't even have mobile phones bless 8)

Im going out there in 9 days for the first time! Cannot wait for it, have booked 1 week in Playa and 1 in San antonio, In Jabeque Appts/Hotel Catalina Mix it up a bit! ....Im into my House/Trance Music and can't wait to see Ferry Corsten and Erick Morillo out there.. I wouldnt say im 100% in the know about all the tracks, but surely going out to ibiza and not having a clue about a single track and paying 40/50 euros to get in is a bit of a waste of time.. Id rather have people standing about being there just because of the look, than ****heads spilling their drinks on me. what time does Bora Bora go off by the way? arrive at 1pm and want to get there at the best time possible, slightly tipsy of course!

i don't get it guys.
just saw the Dancetrippin video of Space Opening Fiesta with Deadmau5 on the decks - it looks simply a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

but if i come here to look for some reviews - i just read people's bitching about how over packed or what ever it was...

isn't it ment to be crowded when talkin about opening/closing parties or the big parties in ibiza at all?...
