ibiza gossip 2025

Mixed feelings on this one, good to see him back in Ibiza but a shame it’s for them. Carl Cox was Space and Space was Carl Cox. Pretty sure he said he was done with the island but money talks I guess.

On the positive side for those continuing to be unhappy at the island going after expensive 'tourists' more and more...8k people in UNVRS means 8k people not taking up space at smaller events, may actually be some space to dance at smaller nights and maybe just maybe then other clubs use cheaper drink prices than usual to lure a few people in?

I can see ticket prices dropping (or let's put it the other way - more early birds etc) and maybe deals coming in the form of 50€ incl 1 or 2 drinks if a night needs extra push (and I have a feeling we might see quite a few of those this summer, spread over various venues).

I cannot see the clubs going down with drink prices per se. that just won't happen IMO.

I guess between the fact that he held up his oath of never playing hi, the other fact he's played the new venue previously (when it was privilege) and the obvious fact he's been offered silly money, that's where even coxy says 'OK, time to turn the page'

anyone stil thinking 'oh amnesia will absolutely be fine', think twice. I wish them the best and they do have a few good things lined up for this year, but it is what I'd said a few weeks ago: dog eat dog season. unvrs can't fail and for that everyone else needs to suffer a bit, probably even their other two venues.
I now know of at least 3 confirmed nights (inc pyramid) and yeah i’d say worrying times

Oh yes Oh yes Oh yes

I never ever thought i’d see the day Carl Cox would sell himself out. Genuinely shocked at this announcement and not in a positive way

I do get it guys, and Space still one of my fav clubs ever....

But.... Space did not charge €1 on the door, drinks €2 and Coxy take no fee when he was at Space.

We need a reality check here when looking back - DJs never played for free at Space, and Space was not a non-profit business.

As bad as this looks for Amnesia, this could be an exciting opportunity for up and coming DJs and labels. An almost unheard-of German label called Cocoon was given the Monday at Amnesia when the club was empty anyway, as everybody was just across the road at Manumission. Look what they made of it. So I hope that some young DJs can use this springboard of an Amnesia residency to create something new and big.

I would 100% put my signature below that, IF amnesia wasn't that huge. their size is the main issue for the above.

The Carl Cox news has made me really sad, he just doesnt need that bag, TNL are throwing millions round, and the artists taking all the money are complicit in the demise of ibiza and increasing the cost to the clubber in drinks and ticket prices. TNL will get all their investment back from extorting their customers even worst than before, just so the dj's can buy another house or car :(

Im genuinely upset by this, and Capriati to be honest, I know Sven Vath isnt box office like he used to be but he is the last standing bastion of the old ibiza playing initmate gigs for love and not money !

I understand progress and change but TNL are not having a positive influence on the island and this might be the final straw after 25 years that stops me visiting!

It's similar to Football where we've seen already rich players some still in their prime and getting selected internationally going to Saudi for mega money. Can never be enough money for some people.

The problem for IbIza will be one day the rich and famous may look around and go 'oh this place is deserted, and isn't everyone old, rich and boring now?' and move on to the next hotspot...but that prospect seems a long long way away, things just get bigger and more expensive.

Quite a lengthy residency. Did Cox not usually just do about 8 dates at Space (maybe more on the final year)?

Can I ask a question here, and I am not trying to just start an argument.

But, why when Carl Cox played Privilege (for Resistance) 2017/18/19 for 8,000+ people - why was that not selling out and destroying the soul of Ibiza? Checking back on my emails, I paid €50 for Resistance in 2017.

Sorry for backtracking but I’m just catching up after not signing on for a week. But the paradise to unvrs move is concerning for a number of reasons for me (a massive fan of Jamie and paradise). I’m from the states so don’t have the chance to visit Ibiza frequently but was disappointed with paradise’s move to amnesia. Jamie’s sound (especially his old sound) was perfect for dc10 and feel the lineups were also perfect for those rooms. Thought paradise lost some of its magic going to amnesia and think it will be even worse at unvrs.

Unfortunately this also solidifies that Jamie has basically sold his soul and is paper chasing (can’t blame him) but his recent pop song endeavors had me concerned but this move solidifies it for me.

Hope I’m wrong and paradise is a great fit at unvrs. Do we think it will still be on wednesdays at unvrs?

He said he wouldent step foot in Hi, but has now signed on for the even blingier newer club owned by the same people. And it's not like he needs the cash or fame desperately. Comes across as not having good ethics.
