Also...I went to Prydz Holo yesterday, main room was crazy busy, but my complaint is the visuals were cool but I didn't see any 3D hologram really. Is that my eyes or did anyone else feel the same?
They did seem more toned down compared to usual. He played harder than usual too so it meant less downtime to focus on the visuals. Which I definitely preffered compared to previous weeks.

You or any other Londoners might remember, was it the Hippodrome or Equinox that used to do that laser hologram show every weekend? I guess they appeal at a certain time in the night and the Chems have built an entire touring career out of them
Don't recall it tbh, only ever went Hippodrome in 91/92 for Orange Bank Holiday Sunday raves

Just watched a vid. Those visuals would freak me out!

Not a party to me just a sea of people recording, was one of the reasons I left hi early on Sunday for Glitterbox, far too busy and got fed up with it. Killed my vibe 😂

Really wanna do glitterbox on the 24th but i’ve never been to Hi and the vids i’ve seen look horrendous. Anyone else had bad experiences at glitterbox?

The visuals are synced with what's played. So with alot of the tracks there is some downtime while the visuals are most prominent. Which gives people plenty of opportunity to record.

I think it’s hard to have a bad time at Glitterbox personally. Go with the flow, smile and dance.
Really? hi is bloody awful these days (I was there year one and it at least had something then), now super rammed full of shirtless gangs of lads totally off their faces on ket, vomiting and collapsed people on the floor?

those that can stand or aren't trying to protect their girlfriends from being crushed just filming, no dancing (you cannot move and I'm a strong 6ft guy) no joy or fun apart from the 80euro entry and 25euro drinks for the owners. It's pure tourist trap corporate rubbish and this is considered, I've been in big busy heavy clubs for years, hi is just awful now no matter how many lazers and screens they try and dress it up with

Only hope is number of wristbands being given out versus previous trips mean they are struggling to sell as reputation takes a rightful battering, I doubt 80% of those in even knew or cared the dj were or the style of music,(or there own names) they were leaving in droves by 4am with a few insta videos, jesus the future of clubing?

I could never recommend a club that feels a dangerous and intimidating place to be to have a'great night out' no matter what ticket commission they pay

sure glitterbox doesn’t attract these types?

I've done 4 very different nights at hi over 4 trips since it opened from garrix! to TOU',

I'm not a moderator on this site however my experiences has been each visit is getting lmore like that regardless of specific night (although I've NOT specifically done glitterbox so it maybe better?) it's the way it's run of that combo of too many people rammed in to the main room (they now have screens at the back of the room to see the front of the club, WTF is that?, the phones?!? on WAY too many first time drugs seriously the circulation areas were littered with blokes in the recovery position - why are security letting them in

I think it's getting worse as your more.mixed (not 85% male) / hardcore crowd want nothing to do with it (and a quick look on TripAdvisor says alot) so what are you left with? the uniformed or the completely battered - a friend summed it up by saying it was like the old West end brigade had decamped to hi

it's it being wholeheartedly recommended that I find distasteful as these things are hard to ignore

Maybe I’ve got lucky, but never seen the scenes @Darkrampage42 describes at Glitterbox @ Hï.
Same club, same location, same security team, same prices, same building design: yes maybe glitterbox is totally different or maybe just go somewhere else!

Even if glitterbox is totally different why is it OK for any night in Ibiza to offer such scenes?

Clearly I was upset by it as noone wants to see distraught young women being carried off the 'dancefloor' when they were probabaly really excited to go to the No1 club in the world, Eric Prydz Topping and Bayer should be ashamed on their private jet back home

Reading the reviews on Tripadvisor the situation at Hi seems to have gotten very bad!

We've done 3 events there and they have generally been okay, other than one event where Solomun was playing - if you were GA for that, you'd likely have been squashed to death.

I've said enough and knew what I was probably walking into (friends really wanted to go, we were GA) it was the unsuspecting tourists/young women/couples/actual dance fans/ibizas future underground clubbers I felt bad for hence being upset by the suggestion this place is fine as somewhere to enjoy

I did find Glitterbox overcrowded in July last year...but it was July. There did seem to be a lot of middle aged drunken hen parties going on but I would try it again. The Hi reviews on Tripadvisor appear to be 99% for Guetta although having seen some of the videos of pure phones in the air at Afterlife I am nervous for next week, especially with Black Coffee there

We did afterlife last trip, it wasn't as bad but I'll be honest not transformative, I'd humbly propose main room early and at end, take your top off and stumble around instantly as everyone does?, Don't stress trying to enjoy TOU or physically see them (through someones phone screen) as a bonus,

the 'club' room will save the night somewhat as it removes the horredoes overcrowding and static phone brigade with a more approachable tourist crowd and they drag the collapsed punters out of the room quickly to avoid a mess and create space to actually dance

hi, adios

Without knowing him or having been there that night I somehow find darkrampage's account more plausible than people coming on and championing tacky tourist traps but equally, so many experiences do ultimately come down to luck. I hate overplanning but at the same time you have to research everything now when the margins can be so fine between a decent and shit night. I'm extremely selective about parties partly through snobbery but mostly through necessity. You're spending a fortune and need to get it right and it's sad that it has to be like that instead of the carefree spontaneity of old.
