While I'm certainly in the "filming everything/too much is bad" camp, I think older clubbers are naïve to believe that had the technology been around 20 years ago, they wouldn't have used it. They would have. It's culturally ingrained in the the time and place

You can see the progression from club photography being a few obsessive cataloguers, to every event hiring mates with a bit of kit and then later professional photographers, picture pals flogging keyrings and theme park ride-like glossy photos and then the rise of mobile phones and finally the highly edited "after movie". This didn't happen overnight

The reality is, I don't think we're far away from venues offering an extra VIP bolt-on where they have crews creating a documentary of individual group's experience, much like wedding videos

So true.... I would LOVE to have photos from when we went out first.. Some cracking photos to see!! 100% we would have used our phones.. My nephews are brought up with their 3rd hand, sorry l mean phone, so dont think anything of it, filming etc.. Its their norm and yes, it could have been ours.

You're probably not wrong on the VIP film crew thing, but good god what a nightmare that will be 😲

Actually on 2nd thoughts anyone got any recording equipment and some patter these influencers will lap up? I've got a business plan 😂

I’m glad there aren’t pictures of me when I first started going out or first visited Ibiza. Jaw on the floor
 
Too right we would’ve used phones back then.. let’s not kid ourselves. Equally though, history would’ve been very different… all the mythology around clubland is based on memories and urban legends and behind closed door discretion and the yoof, through no real fault of their own, will never have that
 
Think it was the patrol at the roundabout by Eroski that was slowing all traffic and really slowing the buses. They could have done it somewhere different imo

Ignore bought tckts. First time at Cova 😃 planning to get there before 9...is that a good time to arrive...

Loved it in there last night...Joplyn early on was brilliant. No idea who was DJing in the club later on bt there was also excellent. And 99% of people were NOT on their phones 👊
