if you still think ibiza club tix are too expensive you should take a trip to Tulum

And without wanting to thread drift too much...I saw someone post a pic that a bottle of Wine was £31 at Wembley Arena for Armin the other night 😯 and I'm sure it wasn't the best bottle from the world's best vineyards.

We've sadly gotta brace ourselves that 2022 ain't going to be a cheap party anywhere

Okay, I've had a tiny sprinkling of MD admittedly, but Keep On Dancing at Es Paradis has a lot of potential right now. DJ has just dropped Euryrthmics Love Is A Stranger

If you're on the island/in San An, get here!

I am crossing everything that this is the season Es Paradis wakes up, it's a beautiful club and in a great location if you stay in San An, it'd be the ideal home of lighter house and disco

Conspiracy theory?
I’m onboard

Been happening at a lot of things - Cheltenham & Aintree horse racing for gold cup / grand national was £7.50 a pint, £25 a jug Pimms… 2 years of no trade to make up for 🙄

What would the price usually be?

Just had a Google and a bottle of wine at Creamfields in 2018 was £24, some London tax to add between the two places but it's still 30% up pre pandemic and I can't imagine Ibiza being immune to this
That is a festival, Ibiza is an island with inflated club prices since time began. I don’t think the two can be compared. I am v sympathetic to the housing issues on the island. The living standards and cost for Ibiza workers look utterly horrendous. I’m mindful of stivi’s point about electricity prices increasing too. We have our own issues with gas and fuel in the U.K. it’s not been mentioned, but I’m sure that is being felt on the island as well.

But the starting point for clubs is already off this scale compared to anywhere else in the world for weekly events over a prolonged period. Let’s not pretend that paying £50-80 to get into an event that is taking place on a weekly basis is normal compared with anywhere. And then take into account that is happening in the same club seven days a week. And let’s also not pretend that paying £8-10 for a bottle of water at these events is normal either. Or £10-15 plus for a bottle or beer. A lot of people got v rich on high profit margins in Ibiza and want to maintain that. To the disadvantage of punters. Let’s not use this as a reason to justify being taken advantage of. A lot of people in the industry read this forum and that kind of acceptance amounts to a free pass.

It’s also fine to hike up the costs to cover two years of no income, but at what cost in the medium term? I’m already interested to know what 2024 clubbing numbers look a like after the clubbers have been pillaged in 2022 and 2023.

I’m interested to know how brexit is impacting Ibiza. Is it a labor issue or something else?

$40-$100 presale depending on how early and the party. Similar to many big cities….that seems to be the going rate so it makes sense for Ibiza to be in that range. I think that’s fair tbh.

Ibiza set the range. And goes on a lot longer than anything in Tulum or anything else for that matter. And apart from two lockdown years and two pregnancy years, we have done it for the best part of three decades!

Inflation is rampant across Spain right now, pushing 10%. Holiday areas even more affected. Of course there will be profiteering and lets not kid ourselves workers get any more than the crumbs, but would be naive not to expect big price hikes when energy bills are so high. Whether people are getting value in terms of entertainment offered is a whole different debate of course. I think more parties taking more creative risks and doing things 'inhouse' could've saved a fortune on dj/agency fees but i'm whistling in the wind as per usual..

If punters don't have more money, then some nights will surely become less well attended? TBH, I don't see the issue with expecting the richest club owners and superstar DJs to take the hit...
