Lockdown 1.0 worked in the sense it did what it was intended to do, which was flatten the curve and not overwhelm the NHS at any given point

Now that businesses and the public, in large and in spite of the the deniers, are more clued up in regards to mask wearing, social distancing and sanitation, you would hope there would no further need to completely shut down the economy. These public places were shut in the initial lockdown because they weren't prepared. That concern cannot be levelled at them now

And yet here we are
half term get ready for it

i think we can safely say closing bars & ‘non essential shops’ isn’t the solution. I said it a few pages ago theres an agenda at play here

An imaginery 2021 ibiza summer celebrating the end of Covid 19:

1- return of space ibiza
2- carola music on back to amnesia
3- enter back to space
4- cocoon back to its peak times
5- tale of us back at dc 10

all parties can go up till 10 AM.

those were the good days for a lot of us forum folk but I'm afraid, I don't think any of this will come back.

the good news is, if you're open enough, there might be new things coming. I'm hopeful for the post-covid era, even if it might still take a good while until then.

Cocoon never actually revealed their 2020 plans did they?
I hope they return for some one offs in 2021

they indeed didn't. I already had the promo video ready to upload, but...
again, the good news is that IF parties are possible next year (not just sitting down), then cocoon will be at the forefront. they can't wait to be back doing parties. that's all I can tell you for now.

Has there be any discussion yet what the clubs have planned next year if we don’t get the miracle of normal life pre covid and there are still some restrictions in place on the island ?
Mykonos this year had a totally different reaction to covid and although they did have a spike in infections I don’t think it got massively out of control. Cavo Pardiso had general admission tickets with limited numbers which had ropes throughout the dance floor to keep people in small groups but still could dance. Although it weren’t the same it was better than nothing. I just hope we don’t have another Ibiza season like this year whilst still be realistic where we stand with the virus.

I think the contractual obligations will be an issue if the world isnt back to 'normal' sadly.

Most deals seem to have gone for a 'same time, same place next year' agreement, but of things get delayed again quite rightly everyone from a venues, to promoters, to component suppliers to DJ's will want payment for their 'deal'

Even on a personal level I have concert tickets booked where ive been fine to delay tp Summer 2021 so far, but if it goes back further ill want refunds.

i concur, just dont see it.. spanish gov will have the final say for sure rather than the islanders who will be chomping at the bit
The decision wether to open up clubs for 2021 will actually be made by the local Government in Mallorca and not in Madrid...and that is probably not so good news. They hate the nightlife industry and everything that comes with it and think the Balearics in the end might be better off without it. I guess they are probably not in hurry to reopen clubs unless it's 120% a safe place to visit. So you can absolutely forget rapid testing in clubs as a solution or partying at 50% capacity.

They dont hate it. The rest of the text is similar to what I think.

while you are right about it being the balearic govt calling the shots, I think you exagerrate on the rest here

hola folks,

as you all had seen, hï announced their 2021 residencies already back in august.

general presale has now started for all hï events and this means tickets are available on ibiza spotlight too. various parties offer a reduced early entry ticket (entry before 1am) apart from the standard tickets.

two things I'd like to point out
1. - we are absolutely aware it's a very uncertain time right now and no one can say for sure if by spring/summer next year, events will be possible/allowed in ibiza. but as pointed out elsewhere in the forum, doing nothing won't help and seeing the balearic government now saying yes to a testing strategy makes us feel reasonably positive. so our take is the following one: IF events can be held next season, we wanna be ready. I think a lot of people/businesses in the nightlife industry will go for this mindset in the coming months.
2. - this is no news at all, but in these times it's probably a good detail to repeat: our tickets are 100% refundable no questions asked.

there will be more stuff coming over the next few weeks.

I think it is a big possibility that clubs can open in Ibiza 2021, I think the balearic govt may have realized that clubbing plays a big part in the economy and tourism.

I don't think the big opening parties will happen end of April/may, my prediction is that they will have to be delayed a little bit, maybe till June at least

Going to be a long anxious Winter waiting to find out

Hi have alot planned for next season.. will it be seating,, dinner and a 30 minute show of some sort.. ..?

Just read there that johannes goller has left cocoon to work on something else. Or at least he is now "not exclusively with cocoon".

What a great 20years he help create.

Look, clubs will obviously open again but only at the right time. The socialists in Palma running the show care first and foremost about the health, well-being and safety of their residents and tourists, everything else is second. Times are long over when Matutes would simply speed dial the President of the Balearic Islands and make things happen. Does anybody on here really think Pacha can handle a 5 month, 7 day 2500-3000 daily capacity season without single outbreak just by doing some random testing before? And what happens afterwards? Quarantine for how many dozens people? I don't wanna be negative all the time but at this point it's just not realistic without vaccine.
Plus: Stevie himself said it on here. Local businesses in Ibiza were doing much better than expected this season and hotels had an occ of almost 50% - and that was with a travel warning in place and that quarantine crap. So it will probably help the Socialists case that Ibiza is sustainable even without nightlife and reopening clubs is not that much of a priority for 2021. But obviously I hope I'm effin wrong

And who do you think will pay for your 2 weeks quarantine stay .. could end up being an expensive weekend for a party..
