two things.

firstly - I hate to be a party pooper, but can we please leave the jokes and non-informative stuff out of this thread. I've explained it before, I would like this to be a thread which really stays on topic and - as boring as this may sound - joke-less. it should really be the thread where you can find all RELEVANT 2021 info first hand. thank you.

Plus: Stevie himself said it on here. Local businesses in Ibiza were doing much better than expected this season and hotels had an occ of almost 50% - and that was with a travel warning in place and that quarantine crap. So it will probably help the Socialists case that Ibiza is sustainable even without nightlife and reopening clubs is not that much of a priority for 2021. But obviously I hope I'm effin wrong

I don't think I've said that ever like that. I definitely don't think the above was the case. out of all sectors, the only two or three I can think of that did sort of OK this summer were luxury villas, boat charter companies and high end restaurants. but the VAST MAJORITY of businesses have had an awful summer. maybe I did say at some point that they were getting at least some business and not NONE as a lot of people were fearing in april. but we have to put the record straight here, it was the island's worst season in 20 years or so. also the hotel occ isn't correct neither. A) lots of hotels didn't even open and B) of those that did open, they had an occupancy of around 30%.

lastly, even if lots of people would love to see it otherwise, this summer was actually proof that ibiza currently ISN'T sustainable without the nightlife. to make it sustainable the island would have to change 180 degrees, it would take a decade, and then we could maybe talk. maybe. but IMO the view people are having re the socialists thinking 'oh great this is actually perfect like that' - sorry guys, nope, even if it's maybe some of those guys' wet dreams, they also know it's not a feasible option unless a lot of money is invested in change - and I can't see that happening.

Next season will be crucial. If we have a season Like 2020 again : Dont want to know whats happen then.
Nightlife : Was it ever a real question ? Everyone know , that this a big Part of the Economy there. Whole PdB , whole San An , big parts of the town are addicted. What do
these people want ?

Great news if this is true-2 questions spring to mind.

1. If you get a test at airport in Ibiza and it's positive, what happens?Quarantine in a hotel in ibiza- That would be torture.
2. What about flying home? Do you have to have another test?

this is what I currently think, no guarantee at all that this is how it'll pan out.

on 1:
you can avoid quarantine by presenting a negative PCR test that you've done (and paid yourself) before you travel to the balearics. if you don't want to pay it yourself, you get a free test here, but it will mean A) you have to isolate while you wait for the result and obviously B) if the test comes back positive, you'll stay isolated.

I know this sounds harsh, but as I've said previously, until a medicine or vaccine is there, a proper working testing scheme is the only way to have a 'safe' tourism - including clubbing.

on 2:
not sure yet, the balearic government has been talking about tests before you leave too so you also arrive back home 'safe'.

one thing, please let's not turn this into another coronavirus discussion - there's another thread for this. but since this info might be important for next year, I'm not moving your post and my reply to the other thread.

Maybe @Nobbie Q might know more..
Special agent OOQ

Yeah this was in a suburb north of Toronto. Not surprised it was Chinese operated as the city has a high Asian population with Jewish too. Lots of huge houses, I don't know more!

Regarding corona virus testing at airports, if you test positive how are they gonna enforce tourists being isolated in their rooms? I guess the best thing to do is being tested beforehand.

Guaranteed the virus is gonna incubate and get get ppl sick while there. I don't know how they'll get back home then. But at least it's a step forward.

I know we shouldn't talk about it in this thread but unfortunately it's become become such a huge issue that's affecting all aspects of tourism

As much as I’m in the mood for some dirty techno, I’m really up for / looking forward to parties like this next year.
