*** ibiza gossip 2019 ***

Calvin Harris just released is dates @ Omnia Las Vegas from March till October and there is no dates in August, so I guess he'll be back @ Pacha for a mini-residency just like last year.

The djs are all touring now more than ever before, all the brands are doing events elsewhere circo loco, cocoon, afterlife, music on (2 day event in Amsterdam) more festivals, sonus, DGTL,

same djs different countries, cities,

Ibiza really needs to pull there finger if they want to compete

Even I am having a break from Ibiza this year! Well start of the year anyway... May go closings see how I feel

Have to agree with you. Got a long week off in June and was thinking of doing an Ibiza weekender.

However, noticed that Junction 2 festival is on at the same time.

Leaning more towards that at the minute. Never thought I’d consider a weekend in London over Ibiza.

As you guys discussed Tulum versus Ibiza a few days ago: Tulum city council trying to stop party image:

‚Director of tourism, Eugenio Barbachano Losa, told Riviera Maya News that these festivals and events have brought a style of "tourism that we had never seen before in Tulum" which does not fit with the expensive image of "barefoot luxury" the town wishes to promote.‘

...and so it begins :/

quite a few friends of mine have been working in tulum over the past few years and this year too (basically the december-january period). one of them told me something very similar a few days ago, that for example the circoloco event didn‘t seem to fit at all. woomooney type of events work perfectly and solomun and dixon obvs always attract a lot of people but I heard quite a few of the events that were part of 'esto es tulum' weren‘t as busy. I wasn‘t there myself though eh

Having just looked at the events associated with esto es Tulum they are not really my cup of tea! Hadn't heard of that one up until you just mentioned but the Sound Tulum events looked much better imo. Also Day Zero, that looks unbelievable and the perfect event for the location.

Hopefully they still allow the like of Solomun, Afterlife and Day Zero to do events and just cut them down by getting rid of the Circoloco and Martinez Brothers etc which must be attracting the completely wrong crowd.

Just need a few dodgey characters to influence the council to stop this. I am sure with Mexico's reputation that will happen.

More ADID, please..3-4 events last season was unacceptable

I have zero background knowledge on their 2019 plans just yet, but I would think no matter where they'll be, one a month sounds actually reasonable to me. I might be wrong but I can't see them doing a weekly residency.

He’s not my taste, but if Pacha have any sense they’d lock him in for August ASAP and announce it early like Resistance have.

They'd have no trouble selling the tickets anytime they release them, busiest I've ever seen Pacha last August and he's added another UK no1 or two to his collection since then. One of a dwindling number of EDM names who are still doing the business commercially.

They just don’t want it to get out of hand and want to make sure the promoters don’t take advantage of the natural resources.
