*** ibiza gossip 2019 ***

Also just seen Nastia’s post - I rate her as a DJ so it’s a sad state of affairs to see her playing to about about 5 people on the terrace....

Are all Pyramid dates like this? We have Villalobos & Darius Syrossian’s date booked for the end of the month - if the club is dead we will seriously look to switch to go to Elrow instead...
Much more people end of July than beginning! Wan’t be empty for sure . Elrow on the other hand will be rammed so honestly much better Pyramid in term of everything ( music, crowd, attendance )

I think you’ll be fine, Ricardo will pull in a crowd, or he’ll pull a sickie and Amnesia will be making another last minute addition ...

Few points I would like to make on this. Firstly I really like Nastia as a DJ and have to kind of feel sorry for her. She was never going to fill the terrace of Amnesia which the likes of Sven Vath struggled to do last year.

Also poor set times from Amnesiaimo as I highly doubt many people went specifically to see her. They should have had one of the bigger names i.e. Joris Voorn close then I am sure it would have been busier.

Secondly I have a feeling this Cocoon bi weekly thing may have a negative affect on Pyramid, while working wonders for Cocoon. If you are on the island all season, well I know this is me personally, there are little Pyramid dates I would attend as I would be going to all the Cocoon ones. Last season I would have probably gave more Pyramids.

Could be way off the mark here but just my thougths.
Definitely seems like the coccon bi weekly could affect Pyramid big style.

Nice to see Nastia’s honesty tbh
- a lot of DJs will have nights like that but it’s not reflected as they probably feel like the only thing they can post is “last night was amazing, what a great crowd!!!!”

I hope for Pyramids sake that the club room was busier though, as if not that is a pretty sad state of affairs.

Urgh. Bunch of complete c***s
This comment will probably make me unpopular but so be it. I can only conclude this was during the MERKY event?

I have never seen fights happen at parties, raves or festivals where house music is being played. Be it deep house, techno or trance. I have partied with people from all ethnicities and we all spoke the same language. Just love and respect. I could dance with somebody's wife and get a hug and a high five from the guy after. Sure the type of drugs (xtc) will have a big part in this.

Grime, hiphop, r&b, reggeaton attract a different audience. Even with EDM and Dubstep I can feel a slight change in atmosphere. Perhaps this audience drinks more alcohol instead of doing certain types of drugs. The music and lyrics can be agressive or promoting violence. A wrong look at a girl can cause problems with their boyfriend. It's sad, but im afraid these events will bring more of these kinds of incidents and thus will mess with Ibizas' reputation.

Couldn’t have said this better myself! Ibiza is not made for that scene. Anyone up for starting a petition? ?

Violence comes with those genres of music. Clubs would be better off remaining closed for those nights instead of catering to that crowd. Just way too much liability. Only a matter of time before a stabbing or worse happens and then next thing you know the club is forced to shut. Happens all the time in NY.

Anyone see Nastias post on her Facebook about pyramid last night. Video of her Playing to an empty terrace and saying how she isn’t cut out for Ibiza etc.

She also said Ibiza wasn't for her in this Ushuaia magazine from last year or 2017 (I have to find it). She says how you have to play more obvious in Ibiza and it's all tourists but other places like Romania I think had a more underground scene. I personally don't think she's a big headliner overall but she gets pushed as such

Anyone know what's going on with Amnesia's bookings this season? Coming back in September so wondering if this is a trend or just a bad week for them.

Just this week we've had -
Eats Everything no show at Cocoon (admittedly due to EasyJet cancelling his flight)
No Cassie at Abode
Artikal swapped for Ellie Cocks at Abode
Latmun swapped for Franky Rizardo at Elrow

None of them have really effected our nights as the replacement programming is good, but it doesn't look great when the posters around San Antonio have different lineups to the event and some people may have planned around seeing particular artists (happened to us a few years back at Sankeys and we were not too happy about it).

Tiga was swapped for Dense and Pika at Pyramid just yesterday. I'm seriously wondering what is going on

Don’t know if this has been posted elsewhere
Round my way, somebody usually gets shot following that type of scuffle. Young kids trying to save face and not walk away. I go to ibiza to get away from that shitty environment. Its what drew me to house in the first place.

The music /lyrics are hyper aggressive and the kids want to imitate. I agree that the alcohol does not help. They need more "E" in their lives.

Club owners will not step in until someone dies, unfortunately.

What about the Hacienda in its latter days ?:idea: Well documented ... gangs always the problem. https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/...s-the-secret-gangland-history-of-the-hacienda

Then there were even issues at The End and other London clubs. I'm sure quite a few on here can remember walking through an airport-style metal detector to get in ....
