I'm interested to see what EDEN can do next year. I know it's not one of the big clubs but i like to see it doing well even if i don't really go there. Hopefully they can build on 2017.

Agreed plenty of memories shame its gone to shit. Think defected worked well this year as most british holidaymakers go by the name they know. I.e sam divine, MK

some live events at privilege next year...??? They have done in the past, underworld, sure the kaisers also
When Andy McKay made comments earlier in the year about the new legislation making it impossible to put live acts on at Ibiza Rocks I thought it would be a good move for them to put live acts on in privelege.

Do you think Erick Morillo will return with a residency or just do a few dates like this year?

please god no - not that grinning oaf

Hyte was nuts in 2015 and even this year it was decent on some dates...they def. bring in guys and gyals that are different from the usual DJs at Paradise. The most interesting thing was Caribou in 2016...they should have continued with bringing in more actual live acts like this this year (Crystal Method, Chemical Bros etc) but I don't know what the heck happened. I hope it continues...but they need to get rid of Loco Dice and Liebing. Those guys just bore me....but their other DJ selections like Robert Hood were good. They need more Ben Klock and Dettmann tho. I hope theyre back with lineups like in 2015

- Cocoon was sorta less busy than last year...terrace half full for Ricardo on July 17th..was a drop off from 2016 on a similar date...its obviously gonna come back but I think they were trying to push too many new artists this year.

Further to my first point, some other nights should combine forces. They're diluting their nights and DJs too much, spreading it thin.

some good points in here

the key (and perennial) problem is that the more interesting nights don't put bums on seats, so promoters all chase the same dollar by putting the same old DJs but safe bets to fill rooms, with tourists easily suckered by the hype.

anyone who dares do anything different or interesting gets squashed like a fly - unless they're very niche and hidden well away from all the main action like say Dalias

Very, very lucky. Jealous.
Hope is sarcastic ;-)

It's quiet normal that Ibiza worker get some free entrance ( in the past most of them had a free season past for each club except certain night ) as for many the wage is low , and the life expensive.
But many from the forum don't talk about it every 5 min because there is nothing spectacular about it except for the pirate I guess ;-)

I really do hope that Solomun doesn't leave Pacha... IMO its one of the best nights on the island and that is down to the combination of venue and event - Pacha really does come alive on Sundays!

I also can't see Paradise leaving DC10. The relationship that Jamie and Nick Yates (Paradise Manager) have with DC10 is extremely strong and long standing and I can't see them parting ways anytime soon.

If anyone is going to move I would hazard a guess at MusicOn. Carola and he's team don't strike me as the most loyal bunch and he seems to always be chasing the money - MusicOn at Privilege would be my guess. I think that would be a great move for all concerned, as I think everyone is in agreement that Amnesia needs to lose one tech event.

I agree. +1 is an example of when DJ & Venue just align. Yes, I enjoy Solomun in other venues, but it is just in Pacha that everything comes together.

Re. MusicON, I think every season we assume they will chase the money elsewhere, and every year they end up staying.

Re. MusicON, I think every season we assume they will chase the money elsewhere, and every year they end up staying.

Indeed we do. I think the difference this time is they are no longer top dog at Amnesia, and Privilege has shown itself to be a viable option

I have got a little bored of MusicOn now... it's an event I find myself attending more because there aren't many other great options on a Friday besides Labyrinth.

However, I would be interested to see how MusicOn fits at Privilege IF they took the leap. I don't personally see Hi being a good fit for them at all.

I hope they do because when it is full swing it is one of the best places on the island. They need to do something about the queues to get in though, granted there is some volume of people going in but it is woefully organised

And then as always in Ibiza you can then imagine too many nights then diluting each other etc etc. Though I suppose in the Vista, you don't need massive numbers to make it work.

When you say Privi, do you think the main room, or the vista? I get the sense that everyone now wants to play the vista. I can see them packing in tons of tech nights in 2018.

I would have honestly said the main room. Although I think the hype around MusicOn is starting to die down a little, Carola is still very much a flavor of the month DJ behind Solomun. I think he's sound would be far more suited to the main room, but perhaps with some appearances in Vista.

However, my knowledge on Privilege as a club isn't great. What is the capacity split across the rooms?

I went to Vista the first time this summer for Resistance and was surprised by how small it was. Even given the hype of Afterlife it doesn't 'feel' like a massive achievement to be filling that room? Can't hold more than 1500 or so can it? Or am I missing something.

Priv main room is a different beast. I could imagine Music On in there as it fits his style, but not sure if I could imagine Solomun in there?
