Mate, don't me wrong. I love(d) Cocoon at Amnesia. Pacha is my fav club on the island, and I'm still sceptical about any potential switch.
It'll upset the apple cart for sure.
But i have total faith in Sven, Johannes and their team. It won't have been a decision taken lightly.

Obviously not as big news as Cocoon moving but still a loss for Pacha. Its an EDM night but on the cooler side of EDM rather than the cheesy side. Also one of the few DJ's of any genre to have had recent chart sucess.
 
cocoon/sven is synonymous with my discovery of electronic music and ibiza parties over 12 years ago. I will follow them wherever they go, even if it's the santa eulalia roundabout. having said that, I never really liked pacha or had great nights there so I'm worried if this is true. but my trust in the brand outweighs that.

Agreed - hopefully @laislabonita is correct and there is an official announcement for all to see tomorrow. Fingers crossed @stivi will also be able to provide some more information then to answer some of our concerns. This could be the most interesting gossip thread we've ever seen for this coming season!

This could be the biggest tease ever....

I genuinely have no idea what the Pacha refurbishment entails. But if I was to have a guess, I’d imagine a larger main dance floor with a new sound system that is ‘wider’ than the old one? And I wonder if it involves a larger second room? So the likes of Cocoon etc could experiment more with artists (something they couldn’t do at Amnesia). Though I’m struggling to see where. The old original building covers the Global Room? So could it be expanded?
 
I was about to ask... I seen on insta that cocoon had a paca logo on there recent snap of their night in Barca with Sven on it...

Who is going to Amnesia?

cocoon always had big djs parallel in both rooms. even with refurbishments, can't see villalobos or beyer going at the same time as sven or richie anymore. with headliners like these global room would be bursting at the seams :/
 
Cocoon usually play Pacha in Barcelona for Sonar though?

Still surprised by this news unless something BIG has gone on behind the scenes. As others have mentioned, given how busy both rooms were in Amnesia last summer, it would be quite the squeeze at Pacha.
 
If there is any truth in the move, anyone considered maybe they don’t want a 2-Room event anymore with multiple headliners. We all keep saying there is “too much on” etc.... well last summer Amnesia had 8 rooms of tech/techno across the four parties! Plus they’d have even stronger competition elsewhere across the week e.g. More Cox / Resistance.

Maybe (if they are moving) it becomes one main room party with 2-3 DJs, and a back room for emerging artists? Also, maybe Sven doesn’t want to do anymore than 10 of the 19 dates?

one more point: if cocoon really is WEDNESDAY and paradise stays at dc10 - isn't cocoon going to have the same problem? a very strong underground competition at dc10, starting earlier, at 10pm?
also if hyte is gone why not stay at amnesia on a wednesday? questions over questions, but hey it's the gossip section :)

I don't want to name my source on here publicly, but rest assured this is 100% the case. I have to say I am hugely disappointed - as many others have said Cocoon and Amnesia for me are intertwined as one so I'm finding it hard to picture life at Amnesia without Cocoon. I'm also finding it hard to picture Cocoon (as a two room event) at Pacha unless there are some huge refurbishments taking place. Either way this has completely changed the landscape of Ibiza for me... the end of an era!

numbers was dwindling, guest list massive .
A reduced capacity will help the party ,, some production and it could be a good idea .

I'm sceptical like you. I don't see Cocoon moving (specialy if Hyte leaves) and if it does move, not to Pacha. Privilege would be my bet. I know it's a big venue, but I guess they can joint something to put the hand on Cocoon (still a landmark).
