Yeah I get the holiday aspect of taking pics. It's more the groups of people standing filming that detracts from the atmosphere i my opinion.
I just think if something like stickers were introduced by a party even as a gimmick it would probably attract a crowd there for the music rather than production by default.
Nothing wrong with people wanting a spectacle on their night out of course,just personally I think it would be nice to have an alternative where people just come to dance.

The speculation begins already for next year. With privilege showing it can still throw a good party, I wonder will they attract any big hitters
 
Predictions for 2018:

Eats Everything will play b2b or possibly b2b2b at 3 or 4 different venues several times over the summer

FGP and Kim Wrong will bury the hatchet at Pikes one hazy Monday night/Tuesday morning. A pic of Kim wearing the fabled pirate hat will circulate on this forum.

Diver will go to Swag.

Well isn't Cocoon basically this? They don't exactly put loads of time into the production, although it is there.

I just think in order to sell out a big venue in Ibiza you need to have both sides now days. I don't think you could put a night on like underground do in one of the big clubs, without any productions or promotion and expect it to sell out just because its only about the music especially with everything on offer.

People who want the underground are aware of it and go to Underground people who want productions go to the big clubs and the people who want the underground in the big clubs are asking for something that isn't possible because the second its in a big commercialised Ibiza club its no longer underground!

Bit of a chicken and egg situation if you ask me!

I disagree, I think an underground party with minimal production and a good lineup works well in Ibiza.
Look at Circo Loco. Granted it gets it's fair share of tourists nowadays that come to take a look but for years it thrived on being an underground anything goes party.
There's a huge market for people who enjoy the same model as Berghain in my opinion. Even in Ibiza
 
it gets said every year but it took me a while to properly realise that you cannot have a genuine underground in IBZ - it's impossible when every promoter is a cat fighting in a sack over a limited period when bills have to be paid, and it's an oxymoron when even pikes events are plastered across billboards. It's not like London or Berlin where you have a 365 night industry and unlimited venues, where people can breathe and experiment. The nearest you have to an underground in IBZ are private parties, which are exclusive by nature of their secrecy. To its credit, Underground the club tries very hard and is probably the nearest thing, but how long that is sustainable I don't know.

I agree, it works well and I love it but Circo Loco is no longer an Underground party nor is Berghain an underground venue. Both are hugely well know names within the electronic music industry now.

While I would personally love to see a new Circo style event take off and stay underground in this day and age I don't think it would happen. People who want the Berlin style night out will go to Berlin to find it not Ibiza. Agreed there are people who visit Ibiza who would like this style of night out but I don't think its big enough to hold a residency in a 5000 capacity club week in week out. Circo has built its rep over 20 odd years!

This is gimmicky but I definitely think it would work and It could be good for a couple seasons, but just like elrow started out as a credible party it now seems to be the one 'genuine ravers' avoid and all the noobs want to go too.
