Ibiza 2022 impressions

The mozzies are out in force then? Better remember my insect repellent 😬
Was chatting to peeps at the bar and they reckon they were OK, think they just take aim for me!! Must admit I've not come home as spotty as Sept/Oct wen they are a real nuisense, stocking up for the winter.

But yes, deffo buy some out there!

We have lost the little mobile hut selling beers, hot dogs etc from the dunes by Es Pujols, but we have regained my old favourite, Bar Luzz. Unfortunately ferry/bus times mean I couldn't have a drink there, but at least got a snap.GOPR0610.JPG

The Consell de Ibiza ‘copies’ Formentera to regulate the huge influx of vehicles during summer...

... and, as expected, everybody agrees with the measure:

my current impression (as in right now, this and last week) for the nightlife sector is that there's LOTS on offer, too much actually, and that there are a good few events that aren't as busy as expected.
Even discount bracelets were given out for David Guetta's FMIF-Ushuaia party on Monday! I have not seen those PR discount bracelets for years...

Is there a change of clientele on the Island this year i.e more tourists than clubbers? Sounds like the only nights that have been rammed so far are circoloco and a couple of the commercial nights?

That means maybe : Privilege would be not needed next year ? Too much clubs if its back ?

The commercial nights are rammed singen years

From what i seen, weekends much busier than weekdays... Hotel was chilled all week and then loads of big party groups turned up early Friday day

Yes it definitely seems that way to me, San Antonio is a different place to what it used to be. Overhearing conversations those younger ones who are over here on lads/girls holidays just seem to be interested in Ocean Beach, boat parties and Ushuaia.

I’m not complaining though, it’s a good thing in my eyes. It’s nice to not have to fight my way through reps in the square trying to sell me tickets and god knows what else.

As far back as 2014 one of the Plastik barmen said that very thing to me - most of San Antonio was really suffering cause of Ocean Beach and Ushuaia

A few years ago, I thought about how long and how much the prices of accommodation and services can still rise, that it will start to affect tourism in Ibiza and in what way. I could see that this is at least one of the many reasons that many tourists only visit on weekends or at most a long weekend! This is not at all good for anyone when the island "sleeps" three days out of seven. How much has the early season affected the situation? Would the situation be better or worse if we had followed the pre-Covid calendar? Who knows.. I would see the "withering" of parties as somewhat of a global phenomenon, and a general state of inferiority in dance music.

I am no expert on length of stays, but not sure the long weekend thing in May / June is anything new? I remember in 2018 when Cocoon moved to Pacha we were talking about long weekends due to expensive hotels being an issue early season.

As we get into July / August, people start to go for 1, 2 weeks Etc.

That's just the way it is, long weekends are nothing new. It would be interesting to see statistics on how much time people realy spend on the island. Before vs Now. I personally plan my trip in such a way that I would be as many Sunday-Monday periods as possible. Because for years, the best parties have been then! ;)

Very much doubt many clubbers will be doing 2 weeks this year.
