How's the weather looking??

I am pretty sure that PdB is a natural sandy beach. of course it's possible (and likely) that they add sand if winter storms take a lot of sand away, but originally, I'm sure it's not a fake sandy beach. not least because even if you see some really antique pictures of pdb, it was always a sandy beach (not like other places on the island where the beach was man-made!). I lived in PdB for a while a few years ago and the tracks you can see on the picture above are made by the tractor that cleans the beach every night in summer. also, at the end of the summer (basically just around the dates the storm came last weekend), the authorities cover the beach with seaweed over the winter. the seaweed actually protects the sand on the beach from getting taken away by storms. the storm last weekend took a lot of sand away in a lot of places - and what comes to show below is either earth or rocks. but every sandy beach in the world will have one of both below at some point.

wow , never realised it was all 'fake' beach like it is in San Antonio. I remember when San An beach was just like a hard mud strip before they put down the palm trees and deepened the beach with builders sand...still awful though.

as I said, as far as I'm aware, pdb is NOT a fake beach. McRackin wil probably be able to confirm or deny though.

there are a few man-made beaches on the island, but I always thought pdb wasn't one of them.

Yes, I remember being in Ibiza at the end of August last year and it rained for most of the days I was there and it was cool too. I'll never forget the 'rivers' in PDB at that time:eek:

Weather was pretty rubbish for most days of my 2 weeks last year late sept to early oct.
Had a storm one night and the hail stones were the size of golf balls nearly

by the way... Has "gota fria" already arrived? I guess not, right?

nope. it rained one single day in august and that was it really. very very hot right now and I'm honestly looking forward to a rainy day or two and a bit cooler temps! not much, but I've just driven from san an over to ibiza and on the scooter it felt like having the hot fan on all the time. it hasn't been this hot all summer so far as it's today
