gone - but not forgotten

I remember Captain Birdseye from Pacha, I think his name was Lionel. You're right about the lack of characters these days, I haven't seen Spider-Man at bora- bora for a few years now either.

What a great thread! Been bringing back so many memories! Think all my favourites have been mentioned.

Brought back an old memory from the mid 90's having a coffee after Es Paradis with some randoms I met inside and chatting to a guy who looked worse for wear, sitting with his head in his hands. When we asked if he was ok, he said he'd arrived the night before, dropped his stuff in his hotel and excitedly headed straight out. Unfortunately he'd not paid attention to the name of the hotel or the area it was in. He wasn't even sure if he was staying in San An! His passport was there, as was his spare cash/travellers cheques and all his paperwork. This was before the days of mobile phones or internet being common so he had no idea how he'd find it! Poor guy but this must have happened all the time!

Did the same in 95. Lost my mates and didn't know where I was staying or even the area. Walked about for hours and then decided to jump on a bus to see if I could recognise anywhere. Ended up in Ibiza town with no money. Got a lend of money and then jumped on the bus back to San Antonio.

Remembered the name after many hours but no taxi would take me as I had no cash. Eventually jumped in a taxi and told him I had no money when we got there. Gave him my Tag watch whilst I ran in and got money and expected him to be well off by the time I got back, but the nice man he was was still there and I got my watch back.

Ha ha - well the date would fit! It was my second year clubbing there which was '95 and I remember the big tune that night was Nightcrawlers 'Push The Feeling On' which had been re-issued that year. If it was you, glad it didn't ruin your holiday!

Haha he probably thought the watch was hot or counterfeit and thought eh I'll wait for señor to come back with my 5000 pesetas.

Spider man has been around, sure I had a picture with him in May for the opening parties.

(yours was actually sunseabar ;))

And finally........Mambo was much much better before the promenade and greed spoilt it...no minimum spend or meathead bouncers or PR girlies. When Mint next door was just a regular spanish bar....the days before Mambo ruled the strip
