Cheers for the feedback peeps - some good stuff there.

I know I eat too much bloody refined carbs, I get cravings bad for the bloody things - past a and rice! And bread too, but Ive been quite good with that lately! do you think wholemeal versions would be much of an improvement, or just to cut em RIGHT down?

Definitely gonna have porridge tomorrow, Ive just remembered Ive got some in house , and its lovely stuff!

Not forgetting the 2/3 bottles of wine most nights too

 Sorry Drew that last line raised a smile - I was well impressed up until then :D

I don't drink them all by myself so it's not quite that bad :)

The sole purpose of eating well is to counterbalance the wine consumption ;)

Try and cut down your refined carbs mate, they have a high glycemic index which means that they trigger the release of insulin which in turn causes your body to add to it`s fat stores.

Most fruits have a low GI as do oats and most wholegrain foods. Do a google search on GI and you`ll find plenty of lists showing which foods have low and high GI.

So the GI "diet" is the way to go then ?

Im not looking to really lose a lot of weight by the way, I want to be able to fuel weights sessions, will eating low GI foods still do this effectively - Im thnking "yes" but I just want to check!

Yep,

Low GI foods are generally slower burning so they provide you with energy over a longer period. Most refined foods just give you a quick energy spike then leave you drained.

I`m doing 2 cardio sessions and 1 weights session 6 days a week and living on only low GI foods. I feel great!
