** GETTING IN SHAPE FOR SUMMER **

Well according to the machines I`m burning about 450 cals in my 45 min morning session and about 200 cals in the afternoon session after my weights. So that`s 650 cals a day so about 3900 cals a week just from cardio.

I only do cardio when I`m dieting so my body generally responds well to it as it`s new.

Gonna read up on, and try the low GI stuff ASAP. this has really got me in the mood for exercise! :lol: :lol: :D :D

That's very impressive!

I think if i can maintain around 2000 cal's per week i should stay in good shape.

I'm really lucky in that i've got a very fast metabolism so don't store fat easily but still manage to retain decent muscle mass at the same time.

Ive had em since I was 24 :oops: :oops:

By the time im 30 I will be a established "Just For Men" user! Hopefully the wonderful world of medicine will have come up with some sort of treatment by then!

Just curious, is part of the diet problem with alcohol, besides the obvious calories, that it is a depressant? I just figured if stimulants speed you up and make you burn more calories, then probably a depressant slows you down, so you will burn less calories.
 
Not only that, but alcohol also destroy your proteins and muscles. The bigger your muscles are, more energy you need to keep them big = accelerated methabolism.

(try putting an egg in a cup with alcohol and see what happens)

Besides, your liver when in contact with alcohol, starts working on it to transform it in "sugar", and deposits the excess energy in the form of fat around your belly...
 
Did another session last night - Shoulders/Triceps/Biceps.

Absolutely knackered this morning :(

Anyhow, the weekend is almost upon us and i thoroughly intend to overdo it!
 
Me too - Shoulders (Dumbell press, lat raises , front raises, reverse peck dec, shrugs, upright row) then 30 mins run on treadmill , 10 mins on rower, 5 on cross trainer, 5 on bike. Looked like Id taken a shower in my kit!

Started the day today with bowl of prorridge and skimmed milk - got to say I feel good. Gonna get back the gym for arms tonight, then get up in morning and go for long (45mins + ) on beach / sand dunes.

On the wagon this weekend :cry:

Sounds like your only remaining vice is the Jaffa Cakes :lol:
 
Everyones going health-kick-tastic - which can only be a good thing! Especially considering how everyone likes there vices at the weekends!

Jaffa cakes contain approx 25% less calories than a reduced fat chocolate digestive, and about half as much fat!

A friend who has to strictly control his weight (prem footballer) is even reccomended them by the club nutritionist!
