Films involving/about ibiza

If you do some navel gazing , you can see it as parable of lost youth and innocence dying and lost time. Anna, asks her to be rich older husband if he loves her. He said, we are too old for love.
?‍♂️

Yeah, I've got plenty of time on my hands ?

I can't comment on it's quality as I haven't watched it yet, but the film makers couldn't win. If they had shot it entirely on Ibiza, everybody would be complaining about access to sets being restricted to locals and holidaymakers and film crews taking up valuable spots in hotels.

I bet very few of your favourite films or TV programmes were recorded on location if you bothered to check, so personally that is poor reason to criticise a piece of entertainment. At least Mallorca has similar architecture, landscape, flora and fauna.

Poor acting and bad script on the other hand - that's fair game

Architecture? I have never been to Palma, but I believed the houses were
very different from the typical ibicenca finca.
there are some fincas in majorca that look similar to the ones in ibiza, but the colors varying as the malorcan ones are more brown/red or orange colored and not many of the typical white ibiza fincas!

i just think it's a shame we don't get to see the real Ibiza in the film and they try to pretend that it is Ibiza The plot also ripples, imo the first chapter may still be ok and funny the rest is just not worth the time

Watched the first episode last night, and mrs and I weren’t impressed. It had more than a whiff of Eldorado/late night Hollyoaks. Some of the acting was awful, and kind of felt they were just waiting to knock off for the day and get the last sunshine on the beach. The plot wasn’t that great either and we weren’t really clear who was who. Might give ep 2 a go as maybe it gets better.

Know where you're coming from with the Hollyoaks comment, nearly every line of speech is dramatic or bitchy...but it watchable and as an added game you can sit and guess which bits are Ibiza, Majorca or mainland Spain.

We're a WiFi free house.. no internet only mobile data on our phones if that's what it's still called... Mrs doesn't use any Social media or watch the news so she believes Fck all that's going on.... We decided on no internet to keep the kids safe as we could growing up...

don't your eyes ache staring at spotlight on a tiny screen all weekend?

This may be true for the general audience, but I am sure it ruins the enjoyment for those who know Ibiza, because the locations are fake. At least reportedly - I asked because I was debating joining Netflix to watch this one, and decided not to bother.

It's the same with other movies when you have a little background on the subject. E. g. I like sci-fi, but I have some background in physics, so there were a few sci-fi movies (Gravity, The Martian) which I couldn't really enjoy simply because they got the physics wrong. When an astronaut vents all air from the spaceship in a desperate bid to stay in orbit, it's hard to feel suspense when you know it wouldn't even gain a single meter per second.

Same here when you know the supposed location, but the backdrops are fake.

I know what you mean. It's like when I see a film or tv show about hacking or something and see a page of html as 'code they are fixing a null pointer in' (looking at you "Uploaded") ?‍♂️

*html is a web page markup/layout, like a word doc?

I couldn't really care where it was shot to be honest, it's just shit..? I was interested in what beer they were drinking

 You've convinced me not to bother with it. There are so many good shows I've yet to catch up with that I don't think I can justify watching this.

I've watched an episode of Holby City at a flat of student nurses and they all sat down and dissected every inaccuracy like it was a homework assignment
