Exchange rate

Highly recommend the Revolut app and card. Great app, brilliantly designed so it's very user friendly and also offers better rates than many other operators. Currently over 1.17.

I've just got one of these to use, I intend on topping up the card every day in case I loss it or something. Don't want to keep cash in the safe or carry it.

Does the card work in most locations?

I'd never heard of it until a friend recommended it

I only used it in ATMs and it worked no problem every time. Never any hassle. You can use it to pay in shops and restaurants etc as a normal card apparently but I didn't when I was away. Can't fault it really, impressive operation. Hope it sticks around.

Just a few minutes ago text my other half telling her it's on the up slightly! Hopefully reach the dizzy heights of 1.20 before I go away in September

Yeh its still pretty poor on the high street and im not techno enough for all this revolut stuff etc, i take purely cash lol.
I need it to keep climbing coz when youre changing a large amount it really is a big difference

Bucko,
Get yourself a halifax clarity card. Its just a credit card with no fees/load for use abroad. You pay interest on cash but its minimal if you pay it off straight away. Their rates are v.near to inter-bank rates.

Not a prayer id get a credit card as i get paid cash and rarely use my bank other than small needed payments

If you had a Revolut card and had loaded it up before you went but on your hol you lost it had it stolen can you still access your money or not?

Love the Revolut card so big kudos to whoever mentioned it here! Tested it out at home over the weekend with £'s on it before transferring over a whack into Euros. So easy and a decent rate as well - still not great but 1.17 compared to everyone else at 1.14 it does help a little.

Its gone from 1.14 to 1.17 in 2 days on Revolut. Like you said, hope it continues.

I like the sound of that :)

Since I saw it mentioned here, I decided to get the Revolut app and card. What a palaver trying to upload my driving license and taking a selfie to verify my identity but got there in the end.

I took a gamble on the day before Brexit and got 1.29 for the most of my spends, so the revolut is back up.

Someone was saying on the TA forum last week that the local rate in the resort was 1.08. Is anyone out there at the mo and can confirm. I go on Sunday so would be handy to know.

A machine was offering 1.14 to my partner the other day.

Can't recommend the revolut card enough, great to use saved me so much hassle on this trip. Worked everywhere I went
