Erick Morillo

What DJ Sneak has posted is incredibly irresponsible and it is enabling sexual abuse by default. It infers that victims and survivors should remain silent. So ill-conceived and misogynistic!

Tbh i wouldn't pay any attention to these posts. FGP seems to be almost buzzing about this like its some kind of dj biz industry tittle tattle rather than one (probably a lot more) woman's life being in tatters.

Really sad to see people pulling other peoples post out of context.
When I said there is a grey area in consent unfortunately...I was not saying consent is a grey area on it's own.

Yes is yes and no is no.
But the whole buzz around consent has been misused by people that actually mean regret. While on the other hand the lack of a no, or being heavily under the influence of drugs has been misused as a yes. Both are terrible, because the last example is clearly rape while the first example is a false allegation of rape.

Anyway, I quit because I just found it a really interesting and important topic to talk about but apparently it isn't possible here.

God some absolute crap being spouted on here...but luckily also many more decent people.

False claims are exceedingly, astonishingly rare when compared to the amount of abuse and rape and harassment people endure and never report.
As someone with professional experience in that field...I can say this I not entirely true.
While I agree that there probably is a huge dark number of cases never reported...It's the false claims you never hear from again in the newspapers.
Simply because it has no news value to later say: Oh it wasn't actually a rape, it was a false allegation.
False claims are not rare, they just don't show up in the media.

But anyway, I was already on my way out ? ? :)

What was your experience out of curiosity? Because I have a friend who works as a civilian psychologist for the MET, specialising in sex offenders and victims of sexual assault and another who works in a rape crisis centre who would completely disagree with you

Why bring up the topic of ‘false claims” in this particular case though? Even with best intentions, it makes it appear that you think that this particular case as well is others aren’t always as clear cut. I would rather believe all accusers and be proven wrong the extremely small percentage of the time rather than the other way around.

Nailed it. Most rapists get away with it. Bringing anything into this conversation that spreads doubt is just apologist bullshit.

I personally don't think this equals 'justice'
If anything the survivors are probably going to feel even more broken by the perpetrator of a violent crime against them and their actions to ensure that justice can never be rightfully sought

if you re-watch the IMS interview now, the part where says 'the only addiction I have now is girls, girls, girls...' you suddenly preceive it a bit differently. at least that was the case for me
One addiction for another

When that story first came out I just had a inclin that he did it even before knowing the facts to me he just such seems sleazy with women... Now there is no doubt on this
