There is also that book by Trump's niece. I think she writes about Trump's father. She came out in support of the Dems.
 
in any normal country in any normal year this unqualified, reprehensible twat would be nowhere near power but the game has changed. 2016 wasn't a fluke or freak. initially it was the internet, migration and emerging markets changing the world blah blah and the 'losers' lashing out. we saw it over and over. But now its gone deeper. It's tribal. The brutal truth is he is the symptom not the illness - for those who hate the cities and are nostalgic for Ronald Reagan and John Wayne or when they had a job making cars. That is when fascism suddenly becomes attractive. Blame the other guy for knifing you in the back. It's a variant of fascism but within the system. it appeals because when people's identity is wrapped up in god n guns they will support anyone on their wavelength. If you are brainwashed by evangelicals then all debate ends. The left see the right as evil whereas the right see the left as sinful. Deep down these people know the world is changing and it's out of their hands so they see it as a moral mission to circle the wagons, to protect their own. How do you reason with that? You can't. it's still hard to see how the cities and hicksville are ever supposed to find common ground - when one side believes American history is sacred and the other side believes it is a pack of lies. the left isn't blameless either. It also has some thinking to do about taking minority voters for granted. All gets a bit awkward when it turns out some of them have right wing views too. the scary thing is that even after people were exposed to 4 years of this madness, his vote still went up, which says that something about liberal america does not connect when on paper it should. I'd guess shouting 'defund the police' probably wasn't the smartest way to pitch to moderates ahead of an election. So it's all bit of a mess. And the only real winners are countries like China replacing the yanks on the global stage and arguably with a far more sinister agenda than anything the West has to offer.
 
Biden did have the help of pretty much every media source going (from what ive seen) ? all I've seen for months is write up after another of stuff slandering Trump for whatever I try not to get too caught up in politics but from an outsiders perspective if he can't win after what seems to have been an unfair playing field then he doesn't deserve it no more than if Trump was to be re-elected

Dunno. There are media outlets supportive of Trump in the U.S.. People seem to believe many of his lies (particularly big porkies around covid) regardless - I'm not sure how that's tackled in the media. Plus there's traditional media vs social media and his ability to spout unchallenged nonsense via Twitter, something I don't think any president has done in the past. Consider also Joe Rogan hosts many right wing commentators and IME rarely disputes any of their ideas.
