In my opinion i don't play the most DEFECTED defectd music ever, yeah its a element to my sets but i also head into electro, broken beats if i can get away with it, 2hrs of anything the same is just pain boring! The tracklist on my new CD is hardly defected at all, i just play what i like.
Don't let the haters get you down, Andy ;) Sandy doesn't play an all-Defected set either. They've basically lumped you all together because Defected=funky and there's an anti-funy backlash at work.

You'll learn when you're older.

This year Defected places a big emphasis of LIVE performances of its premier acts with rare sets by their newest signings Reel People and Dubtribe Sound System with percussion weekly by Shovel (M People).

Defected have also planned much more for the Island this year with a regular pre party at Mambo (San Antonio) and a secret daytime beach party being surreptitiously planned. Details to follow.

Bob Sinclar can play funky, slightly French, disco house.
Every time I've seen him play, that's exactly what it was.

Older than what? I'm already getting up there, my friend.

The last few times I've seen JJ&KC, Solveig and co it has sounded like a Defected Greatest Hits set
You'll note that I haven't argued about JJ&KC. Solveig I will dispute, however.

Or they can both play Africanism. Which makes my ears want to stab me in my eyes.
Thinking back, you know who likes to play that kind of set? DJ Gregory. Drove me crazy at Pacha last year. Sinclar came on and properly housed it up later in the evening.

Saw Gregory in Moscow last fall and he was totally different. A very eclectic, only slightly Frenchy house set.
