Defected @ Pacha

If Deep Dish's night lands on the week I'm there all will be forgiven
Renaissance last year was a top night though, Seaman was on form..
Apart from that nothing at pacha really temps me... I would do Rodger again, only if it did not fall on the same night at Cocoon, so my fingers are crossed for Deep Dish

I'm way too late chiming in on this one, but the funky house/Defected/Pacha bashing is going overboard. I was at the first 2 weeks of Defected last year and had a great time at both parties. Sandy Rivera in week 2 was especially good.
I'm sad that Defected moved to Pacha because I liked having one night a week at El Divino (which, unlike mambobirdette, I actually rather like... the waterside terrace is great for chilling out).
As for Pacha's music policy, why does everyone care if every night there is good or not? How many nights in one week do you want to spend in one club? Sad that Renaissance won't be back, but Sander Kleinenberg was half empty when I was there last year so where were you then?
During my trip this year, I will be at Pacha on Mondays and Tuesdays for Roger Sanchez (who always rocks) and Defected and that's it! I'll do Thursday if Deep Dish show up. Otherwise, I'm glad that I'll be spending other nights in different clubs.
Also, Defected has DJ Gregory, Martin Selveig, MAW, Sandy Rivera, and Bob Sinclar in their stable and I've enjoyed great club nights in Ibiza and Moscow with each of those DJs. IMH (but correct) O, nothing to complain about.

MAW aren't technically in the Defected camp, they guest for them as does Danny Krivit but MAW are Soul Heaven and Danny Krivit is Body and Soul. I would love to see the likes of them playing every week for Defected but I guess they'll just be appearing as one-off guests and Defected will stick with the same old same old line-ups for Solveig, Rivera and co.

It's merely basic name-dropping of their rare guests. Aside from Solveig and Sinclar playing an Africanism set (which, if I ever hear again I will leave the club. Truly awful music (Ministry closing 03 for example wtf?!)), it's basically the Most Rated CD over and over again.
LLV playing his self important noodly stuff (dear god NO!) is NOT Defected, as much as they want to pretend it to be.
Simon Dunmore, JJ& KC, Andy Daniell. THAT is defected music, although I'm going to get a barrage of people (quite frankly, in denial) that I'm wrong.
I suppose Sandyu Riv is a "different sound" to HK hits, but I want to listen to insomnia curing deep house I'll... well I just fcuking dont. So there.
Just to add a further disclaimer, I LIKE the "traditional" (JJ & KC etc) Defected sound, I'd just rather cut my left foot off and sleep with my own Mother than have to go "clubbing" with that crowd.

It was a great party and a good crowd... but compared to other parties I went to at Pacha that week there were about half as many people... ok, maybe 2/3. None of the parites that week were rammed (which is why I like Pacha in JuneRobo said:Morbyd said:

MS, much like Monsieur Sinclar, is a man of two sets. (or three if you count him doing a "funky house" set)
He can play electro stuff, which is wicked (a bit lighter than NDSM tho) Check out Mousse T feat Roachford - Pop Muzik (Martin Solveig electro mix) which is quite simply and ace tune.
Bob Sinclar can play funky, slightly French, disco house.
Or they can both play Africanism. Which makes my ears want to stab me in my eyes.

In my opinion i don't play the most DEFECTED defectd music ever, yeah its a element to my sets but i also head into electro, broken beats if i can get away with it, 2hrs of anything the same is just pain boring! The tracklist on my new CD is hardly defected at all, i just play what i like.
