Cream Ibiza 2015

when are you going mate? and what shows are you planning on attending?

Opening & Closing booked. Those parties pick themselves and have (or will be) budgeted for.

But fancying a week late June/early July or early Sept so I can hit ENTER., Music On and a few others.

Oddly from what's been revealed so far Hyte might be my preference - in terms of acts on their roster - but I really can't see myself affording/wanting to go to Amnesia twice in 3 days, and I don't think I could bring myself to book a mid-season trip and not see Carola on the terrace.

Same applies for Coxy at Space. Depending on the line-up that'd normally be nailed on. But to go to ENTER. 2 days later might be overkill. Actually, depending on the line-ups I might opt for Coxy over ENTER.

Options, options, options

I am looking at booking second shorter 4 day trip in early September this year as missing Coxy by a few weeks as booked late June and need my Coxy fix again

Hyte is the strange one for me this year.......in my eyes its a huge risk. People will have the same view as you about the amount of times attending Amnesia, so going up against Sven and Marco is a big big risk, i understand that they have the acts on their 'rosta' that are pullers but Cocoon and Music On are massive, established nights. Big Risk.

Marco was cracking when he played for us over Easter by the way.

On Cream - I see Edde Halliwell has been dropped? Not a fan anymore but enjoyed his sets there back in the day...

Asylum is a link up between ourselves (freeze) and cream...

Nice! ;) I missed Carola that weekend in London. But caught him tail end at Time Warp. Wasn't the best I've seen him, is has to be said. But then again I'm wondering if he stopped for a breather all weekend!

His sets there last year were amazing, mostly trance as well. He blew my mind, doesn't deserve to get dropped to be honest.

Well, he didnt attend the after party in Nation after the daytime show. But that doesnt necessarily mean he had a sleep!

IMO carola's best days are long gone. I'll get my coat now though...
controversial!!! My view is that i have never been a huge huge fan. Always thought he was 'ok'. Was impressed with him at our show recently however. Though i must say i have never been a huge fan of Music On in Ibiza.

Even in the one trance thread you dirty techno people are taking over. :D

aye. guilty.

I might add I used to be a BIG trance fan, but we're talking the period between 1992 and 2006. then I started losing interest in it. still listen to some old stuff every now and then though.

I also used to be a big fan. Cream and Gatecrasher all the time.

What happened to the popularity of trance exactly? I'm a younger lad so I'm not too aware of the history, but it seems like trance was on top of the world in the late 90s/ early 00s, or is that just my imagination?

Tunes like Liberation Angel and I Feel Wonderful just melt me. Can anything move a room like those tunes must've back in the day? Feels like I missed out.

funnily enough my first ever night out in ibiza was...cream. 15th july 2004. remember like it was yesterday. and a few of my first electronic music parties in general (and there we're talking 1994-1998) were mostly trance.

for me it started to go downhill when all the vocal tracks started being popular. not the ones with vocal samples, but actual men (or rather) women singing to the tunes. then it also got all so mellow and now often it's trousey/edm-y.

I loved the old trance which was either progressive stuff (so we're talking the old sasha/digweed days when they included trancey stuff as well - but not the 'epic' trance of course, also nick warren and so on) or then full on banging trance à la push, old days of ferry, hell even tiesto and many many more. I used to love that (and I still like listening to those old tunes).

nowadays I just can't find that stuff anymore (I mean new productions) but at the same time I also have to admit I'm not after these sounds anymore; I still very much like melodic tracks, but generally I want it deeper nowadays (techno mostly).

That's fair enough.

Full on banging makes my heart skip though. I get excited just reading it. Armin played Push- Universal Nation last year and a few other banging classics to finish with and it was amazing, such a good day out.
