Cream Ibiza 2015

Cheers Aaron. I feel embarrassed for not having heard of what is clearly a pretty major event! To be honest, for me it's Ibiza and a couple of nights out per year in London, I should get out a bit more. What happened to Akesson by the way? "Perfect Blue" is one of the best trance records I've ever heard but I haven't noticed him doing much in the way of DJing.

Oh yes, no Giuseppe Ottaviani at Cream this year either. I hope that's his choice and not a case of him being dropped, he's one of the best in the business.

PureNRG feature him and Solarstone. That will be one amazing night, probably the most solid trance line up all summer

I know your pain robicenco, I hate a & b as well and got stuck with them and cosmic gate. Struck out like you said.

I'm going to Luminosity before Ibiza though so I'm pumped for that, I've never been but the above description makes me excited. I also love Steve Helstrip, The Last Time is a f***ing tune!!!

A-ha, didn't know that was him/them. God, I'm getting more jealous by the minute, I'm stuck with the three nerds and Duke Dumont while every other Cream night has got this kind of thing! C'est la vie I suppose.

I feel your pain, I am over for the 16th July. Probably the worst line up of the lot. Half tempted to hit Tropi for the pre party and then go to something else :(

Annoyed. Finally booked my holiday the other day for the second week in September, just before the Cream line-ups were announced, and now that they are I find I will be there on pretty much the ONLY week in the whole season without either Paul van Dyk or Eric Prydz, and to make it worse Above & Beyond are headlining! I seem to be the only person in the world who doesn't care for A&B but I genuinely find their own productions to be boring and pretentious and to feature incredibly dull vocals and vocalists. Hopefully they'll stick to playing other people's tunes. Seriously, is it just me? Anyone else not that fussed about them?

Read back through this very thread, you are not alone in your opinion.

I was going to make some quotes on posts here... but I think I'd be quoting every post since my last one.

Trance is still alive. Look at the big worldwide events that still happen. Future Sound Of Egypt, A State Of Trance (Truly GIANT record label \ radio show parties), Luminosity, Transmission, the list is endless. Yes, in the UK, the super-brand events (Cream, Godskitchen, Gatecrasher) don't run anywhere near as often. There are less UK based clubbers for Trance but I think that number may come back. But there's a lot of crossover between EDM and Trouse now, I've met a few people who like guys like Aoki and Axwell, etc, who started listening to W&W then Armin because it's an easy crossover. It's the wrong style of Trance music but it still helps the scene. And maybe a few of those will then explore the likes of The Thrillseekers, etc.
I think the problem with Trance is that it was both underground and commercial at the same time. It was in most clubs back around the year 2000. Have we really seen that since?
Ferry Corsten went down the EDM route, and there was backlash because of that. He's playing in Birmingham doing a 3 hour Trance set (incl 1 hour Trance Classics) in May for Trancecoda.

Luminosity is an amazing festival from videos. I'm going this year but been aware of it for years. It's that Thrillseekers video that decided for me to put him on for an extended set. Massive kudos to Bo for building up this event over the last few years. It's got bigger and better every year.

Akesson is still out there, he's a producer more than a DJ from my understanding of things. Four releases in the last 15 months on FSOE.

Whatever happened to Godskitchen in Ibiza?

Could they could pull off a couple of big trance nights if they were so inclined?

They didn't do that well when they were over there in the 2011 season were they?
The Godskitchen brand isn't as strong as it was when they used to run out in Ibiza.

There is one nice-looking trance event hidden away in the calendar - "Captured" in the Zoo on September 6th. Some serious big-hitters playing, but... it finishes at midnight and there's nothing obvious to go on to afterwards.

That'll be the first day of my holiday so I might still go. Any chance it'll actually finish much later, or are they strict? Went to Zoo Project a couple of times 5/6 years ago but always left well before the end.

There is usually a carry on after.

There's been an after party on both years in San an Bay. Ibiza trance event is running from 3rd to 8th September so will be loads on. Because of it Driftwood is running on the Saturday with an after party at Summun on the Saturday so you will miss that unfortunately apparently it's a massive lineup for a boat party.

Ah well, maybe next year...!
