I think they all waited too long with the shutdown. even switzerland, they had well over 1000 cases before their shutdown (still not a full one as of today), which is a lot for such a small country and such a contagious virus

I think switzerland will come to rigorous confinement, probably today, I hope.
800 new cases in 24 hours.
Ticino is the most hit.

Havent heard much about america/any where other than europe or china?

What about america/canada/south america/thailand/bali etc?

I said the same thing to my Italian boss, he replied "why would they listen?, they're Italian" as if it was a given this would happen.
French seem to be quite bad too at following rules, have u seen the parties they been having.. Their
Italy only had lockdowns in certain areas to begin with, not the whole country....people from those areas simply left and went to other areas, like in the south. Spread like wildfire. I work with an Italian and he has been showing me videos of people meeting in parks and out and about even now....
I don't understand how they get away with meeting now.... I thought police etc would be on it! Even now they still don't realize how serious this is

We're working as normal in Sweden????
Alot of coronavirus in Stockholm, and everything's open, yes everything's open ?

A family friend got laid off today and the entire business (a multinational retail operation) is closing up shop, for good.

As I mentioned before, I feel the cure is worse than the disease.

Everything is shot down here in Canada since Friday the 13th... Most US big cities too.

I think we are a bit in advance compare to Europe in terms of sanitary mesures, also we are more spread in our wide contries.

So I think (and I hope) we will be less affected than you guys in Europe in terms of sickness. Still our economies are crashing, grocery empty and people in quarantine.

People are all talking about lockdowns and shutdowns like that's the solution.
But reading a lot of expert opinions on the fact that once lockdowns are lifted things will get worse again...
While I agree there is no other way for Italy at the moment....but that's just a method of creating some time for creating some free Intensive Care beds. It is in no way a method to wipe out the virus. So countries that still have some breathing space like Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark are doing the smartest thing (imho) with the Herd Immunity approach. Not as a goal itself...but as one of the side effects of not shutting down the country fully.

Anyone who has bought “advanced single” train tickets with The Trainline struggling to get a refund?
I’ve got a workaround if anyone interested?
My missus is having difficulty getting a partial refund on a season ticket through them. Website doesn't recognise her reference number and the call centre is closed

Lockdowns are just to slow it, need a steady flow through ICU rather than a tsunami not fearing the worst

For everyone stuck inside you can take a virtual vacation. This is a project I started in January just doing walks on the beach near where I live. Unfortunately you can also notice the beaches recently getting more and more empty, especially this week as the cruse ships stopped making calls at our port. Enjoy!

We are not on total lock-down here, but are recommended by local gov to keep to groups of less than 10. Working on getting a local DJ to do a beach set. This video is from last week before the cruise ship traffic stopped.

Also it has been seen elsewhere that the virus will disappear once warmer weather returns, so if we can start to get into April/May things will improve

I could have done with this last Saturday ... had tickets to watch West Brom with my two brothers before it got called off ... glad I didn’t go since my younger brother seems to have the virus now ...
Lives in London where he says it has been prevalent in work and friendship groups
