I can imagine quite easily. With some working out if 1 person on average infects 2 people then the next 2 will infect 4 people then those will infect 8 then they will infect 16 people . If you do this 10 times you will get just above 1 thousand people. Do it 20 times and you get just over 1 million. Sounds a bit far fetched and it would depend on many factors and most probably my working out is a little too high. But you can imagine how quick a virus can escalate throughout the population.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong on those workings. And as the news is reporting that 100,000 are possibly infected in the uk alone it’s a high chance that overtime 80 percent of the uk population may get infected if they don’t proceed with the lockdown.

I think the bat story too is real.... Crazy times... It's like being in war


I know it's wishful thinking but I hope it goes as quick as it started and we will be like can't believe that happened

I will get ocd so worried about getting. It even when I get food delivered

Yes they do... They should have more control so unhygienic... China have alot to answer for... Not being racist at all but it did come from there

Haven't seen those figures but who knows what figures ti believe

Crazy its si easy to catch.. It's horrible for people that die but so lucky that recovery rate is high.. Imagine if it wasn't wud be even worse as so easy to catch

I keep thinking. I have sore throat and fever and then realize I don't and it's just anxiety

I think the figures are going to hugely jump and the knock on panic effect will cause more people to have tests and ultimately find more cases. Here in Ireland we're approaching total lockdown and can't help thinking we should of done it weeks ago.
I think you guys in the UK could unfortunately be in trouble with the delays closing things down.

Probably not the most popular opinion, but i cant help wondering will a year off for the island to it some good. Obviously financially the island heavily relies on tourism and i dont know what type of bail out package the government will give to the balearics, but im sure there's probably a lot of locals who wouldn't mind being able to enjoy their own island in peak season without traffic jams and madness.
Not to mention a year break from the pollution and waste discarded on the island during the summer.
That said i will definitely miss the place tbus year.

You don’t think a collapsing health care system and millions dead would paralyze the economy?

Doctors and nurses will be affected at disproportionate rates to the general population. We already have a shortage in most countries, and it will take years to replace train replacements if we don’t take care of them. Years people will suffer or die due to lack of medical care from non-covid causes.

Older populations are at disproportionate risk. Guess what demographic makes up government leaders, academia, CEOs / business leaders, military high commands, etc... sure some are malevolent shitheads but we would feel the loss of collective hundreds of millions of years of expertise for years to come.

Every country which has tried to resist drastic action has eventually had reality hit them in the face: the economy is going to get crushed . You can choose to shut it down, or the virus will do it for you.
