There used to be a bar/cafe in San An Bay that used to advertise they sold greggs products. Never checked out the authenticity though! Can’t imagine a volcanic steak bake in the heat of the Sun owa there ?
Is it underneath Central Park Apartments by any chance? A remember something of the sort

We are doing ok in the Heed at the minute for infections, just those sand dancers with a problem.
Always fancied opening a greggs near the west end as an alternate to kfc

Maybe they bought in the frozen Iceland stuff.

A mobile Greggs van, touring the clubs as they close. You’d make a bomb at 3-6am. I’m always hungry after a big night

Friends of mine are still going from The Netherlands. It's orange but they are to stubborn to just exept the virus situation. They arrive tomorrow. I read allot is closed and the weather is shit. Rules are strick i read also on Ibiza. I wish them good luck;) My fist time in 23 years i will not be on the Island. I cannot take the risk of getting stuck and insurence doesn't cover shit if anything happens. All clubs closed. Saw movies online of ghosttowns. Makes me sad. You guys think it's a good choice to still go ?
can someone tell me how the situation on Formentera is ? Are things open ? Ferry going ?

Happy for the island that there are still people that wish to support the local business and tourism.

I went in July for a week. Was it Ibiza like I was used too? No. Lots of stuff closed, wearing masks in 35 degrees on a hippy market sucks, rules were already strict back then. A few days after I returned the code changed to orange so it was a risk too. But I did enjoy the island, went to all my favorite restaurants both for lunch and diner, chilled on the beaches and had a blast with the people we met. I had a new trip booked for September, but since it's code orange now...I cannot afford to go in quarantine for 2 weeks so I cannot go. But if it's their choice, yeah thank god there are still people going. It's already sad enough to see so many things close up early.

Think the only thing I miss from home in Ibiza is a decent meat'n'potato pie or pasty. Especially after a few. But I suppose that's our national dish up here in Lancashire!!

I disagree with those two on just about anything, but at least they have been strongly against locking people in their homes. Many other European countries had lockdowns, but didn’t prevent people from going out for a bloody walk (and had much better results than Spain btw..)

You need to separate between wearing masks inside in crowded places with poor ventilation, and wearing masks on the street. While some research is supporting the former (if used correctly, if not reused, etc), the latter is utterly useless and has no basis in science.

Aye which is probably why they've had some of the worst death rates in the world.

It takes some real talent to out-perform Trump in ineptitude but Bolsonaro seems desperate to push him right to the end.

Wearing masks undoubtedly helps, in any scenario whereby you will pass within 1m of someone else. They're vital on transport, in supermarkets, and in crowded areas.

To me, they should be viewed as seatbelts are. They're meant for your safety, they're not foolproof but what is?

Yesterday, here in the north of Ireland, the police where patrolling in Belfast with none other than the chief medical Officer.
That is mental , and they actually closed a bar down.
That in my opinion is scandalous that the cmo is on patrol with the police.

Thanks for sharing ? I feel so much for my friends on Ibiza. I hear the stories. It's bad and the season that didn't started is already ending. Gonna be a long winter on Ibiza. I hope with all my heart they open up again in 2021.

For me it's also to risky. I wait a year. Booked a trip North Italy ;) Also nice. I would go to Formentera otherwise 1000% but the orange code f***ed it all up...

I don't think they are gonna quarantine for 10 days when they come back to The Netherlands. Nobody gives a f*** here. They say you must do it but if you don't they wish you a nice day lol.

today will be an interesting one here. the balearic government will approve the new measures with details that *may* be implemented if covid numbers are bad.

also, later today we'll get the latest recount of numbers. I'm hoping the growth in cases slows down.

resuming, with the latest numbers and the approved measures, some time between today and later this week we'll know more as to whether there will be any more restrictions in certain zones (the one most in peril is ibiza town).

as usual we shall update when we know more

Lads the NE is absolute rife with the young team. Especially Sunderland pub, bar and social club scene.

Have a google about the ourbreak at the Burnside in Sunderland ?

Def need a NE spotlight meet up when this is all over!

Spotlight needs a North East corner.

Just call it Gods Country ??

We can talk about Greggs and start a campaign to get one opened in Ibiza.

Looks like we need a North West corner too. I'm in Morecambe but I particularly like arguing with my Blackpool friends that a bun is in fact a bun and not a barmcake. Clearly as northerners we can all agree a Greggs is needed in Ibiza, and more gravy. Always more gravy.

ok so the balearic government has approved the resolution in which the balearic health department may add restrictions to certain zones - as explained last week (things like no reunions at all, restricted mobility etc).

earliest tomorrow zones with a high contagion rate might be affected by some of those measures. so later today the health department will give an update on numbers and then we might know if any zones on our island might/will be affected at all.

Not related to ibiza but look at how was barcelona yesterday on the beach! ( without almost any tourist ) just local and expat ..
I took this foto in the area of poblenou ( where I live ) which is not the most crowded beach ( barceloneta which is around 2 km away is normally the one that get really crowded).
Been living here for years , seeing so many people on the beach in September without tourist is really unusual. Normally you get that amount of people only in august in a normal year ... which mean that saying to the local to not leave the city during the weekend ( to go in costa brava , dorada , sitges ....) It’s a mistake Imo

The chance of me taking packets of gravy granuals to Ibiza (or anywhere, come to think of it) are the same as me ever going to say "Brexit, that was good".
Although I'm told gravy can artificially "tan" white bits. Dunno if that's an urban myth (tbf it probably is) but even if true, I'm not walking into the old town plastered in Bisto being followed by every dog on the island. Unless they want to eat all the mosquitoes that seem to follow me everywhere...

Is there any rule on how far in advance such a lockdown must be announced? In other word how big is the risk that e. g. you fly to Mallorca and discover on arrival that your destination has just been turned into a no-go zone?
