In the UK assuming you buy the flight directly from the airline rather than a third party, and the flight costs over £100 the credit card company has a legal responsibility to refund under Section 75 legislation. It doesn’t matter if the vendor went bankrupt, as credit card companies have to underwrite the purchase. This is one of many reasons why credit cards have extortionate interest rates as they price in risks like this. The answer is complicated. The quick version is, if the company is bankrupt and has no money, there is no money for the credit card to chargeback to you. Generally the credit card issuer is not eating the cost to refund you.
The long version is it depends on the bankruptcy laws and the structure of the debt. Its possible another company would be willing to acquire the company (and its debt to you). Its possible they could liquidate the company and sell off the assets to settle the debts. Creditors have different priority in terms of who gets paid first, and if you were to receive any compensation it is likely pennies on the dollar.
Missus and I have thought about this. Mulled over Dubai, where we have a place or Ibiza. We’ve decided against both, as although we assume we have immunity after she was ill, we don’t know that for sure. We also don’t know if immunity will last. So, we’d rather be in central London with plenty of free hospitals rather than either being bankrupted by one in UAE or needing to use an Ibizan one. It’s not really fair going and living in Ibiza for weeks, as it seems a bit Gordon Ramsey-ish with him trotting off to Cornwall although he doesn’t normally live there.
Re Gordon Ramsey, he will have paid taxes, which go to the government in the UK. Then a proportion of those taxes will then go to the healthcare provision where he usually lives, I think it’s usually London. If he or anyone else moves to say Cornwall and there’s a large outbreak there, the much smaller Cornish healthcare system won’t be able to cope and will be swamped, as it wasn’t designed or funded for it.If my antibody test comes back as positive, I’m going about my life as normal (within whatever rules are in place). Highly unlikely you can catch it again. Need to figure out how medical coverage would work if we did get sick, but as time goes on Covid does not scare me as much as it once did.
Not sure if it’s Gordon Ramsey-ish, if you’re not tied down to a specific area, why stay there year round? The emergence of working from home is going to change a lot of things world-wide.

Similarly how confident are you that a big influx of new temporary Ibiza residents won’t swamp the healthcare system there? That’s why, until there are major developments it’s morally not right to pack up and live in a new more appealing location.
Printworks in London first club to announce closure & reschedule of dates until January 2021....
As far I know, the first nightclub to do take this step - I suspect it will be a matter of time before the others follow suit.
It's a real tragedy to think we will not be dancing under the stars in DC10 garden this summer, Solomun smashing out +1 or Amnesia early morning Coccon/Paradise settings.
For someone that has not gone a month without clubbing in over seven years, it is going to be difficult finding other hobbies to take up lol.... I think it is possible illegal raves could pop up by the end of year as people will be itching for a dance....
On the bright side (Corona-Virus pending) next year will be absolute cracker - already planning on three trips next season to make up - roll on 2021!!
That was mewhile the clubs may stay shut, I am 100% convinced by mid summer we will see small parties - likely outdoors and daytime - start to pop up in most european countries.
for me it's a good two decades in which there never was such a long period without hitting a club
Illegal parties, 100%. Once the restrictions are lifted enough to meet in small groups, people will just push it that little bit further. Raves in woods etc, organised on social media...Printworks in London first club to announce closure & reschedule of dates until January 2021....

So crazy with the virus can have it and no symptomsNo, but I was at a house party back in February with someone who ended up having it. Also, it’s estimated that 20% of the population where I live have the antibodies, so there’s a decent chance I had it, but didn’t show symptoms.

Enjoy pal!am just watching a bit of a national press conference, preliminary results of a big antibodies study which was being conducted in the past few weeks. the hardest hit areas in spain are between 10-20% of immunity (madrid for example). while the balearic islands are super low, something like 3%. considering spain has been hit really hard with covid-19, imagine just how many deaths we would have to take into account had we gone for a herd immunity approach. I don't want to bring up the discussion again, but just to repeat the swedish way would never have worked here because people are simply not responsible enough if rules aren't strict / not enforced.
right then, off to my first beers in a bar now...exactly two months after my last ones sat in a bar!!! yaaaay!
Not half. Even outside a bar would do in a beer garden or something. Gotta be safer than wandering round Lidl?Enjoy pal!
i would give anything for a pint in a bar right now!
And suddenly reminded I'm on a sobriety roll this week. No booze Monday or Tuesday. None so far tonight. Hoping to make it to Friday before opening a can or bottle...
