Holidays is Scotland for the next cpl years it looks like. Luckily that's not the worse thing
Realy? To me vacation in my f***ing cold and rainy Québec sound like HELL...

Scotland is actually a lovely place rich in scenery, architecture, culture and humour. holidays aren't all about trashy vip lounges...

noticed emails from management basically pleading with staff to take leave now. it's dressed up as concern for our mental health but I think they're secretly shitting themselves about the backlog come late summer (basically nobody is taking any time off right now) - not sure what the fairest solution is? lots?

Out of interest, wtf is a tour manager?
I can understand an agency that may deal with a number of DJs, but a fckn tour manager.

How hard can it be?

Gets gig
Books flight and hotel
Tells DJ what date it is
DJ preps tunes and puts them on a USB

A gopher pretty much. Makes sure transport is sorted, dj gets paid, takes care of any problems that arise.

Pro-rata holiday allowance quarterly, so every employee gets a fair crack of the whip, I'd say. Obviously anything already in the diary will be the bone of contention. My mum and sister both work for the NHS in clerical roles. Both had holiday booked for May. They've been told they can't move it

Tour Manager roles vary slightly from one DJ to the other. For the liabilities, they're there to keep them out of trouble or at least damage limitation. For others, they help with the changeover and technical set-up. For a great many nowadays, there are there simply as companionship on the road. Adulation and godworship several hours a weekend, sure. But also hours of isolation with only your thoughts as company otherwise. Also the reason why there are so many duos on the circuit nowadays

it's all Spinal Tap bollocks really. when promoters I knew booked someone, they would either deal direct or with an agent, then meet the DJ take them out for a meal and back to someone's flat for afters before sending them back to the station the next day in a shocking state. There was no need for any entourage!

Nah. Loadsa things about the current scene might be shite. But a better attitude towards and understanding of mental health isn't one of them, even if there's still lots more improvement to make

Are they in a union? I think management were taking that tone at our place initially but got told to get hunted by the union. The expectation now is mainly that there needs to be cover in all areas, but also remaining annual leave should be spread reasonably over the summer months and not all left until August.

I have 10 days booked off for a Seville trip in June but expect to be able to cancel leave and spread the days out a bit.

=The civil guard prevented six passengers who had arrived from Barcelona on Monday afternoon without good reason from entering Ibiza.

looks like the border patrol is busy checking the arrivals

part of the state of alarm as explained weeks ago. no good reason, no entry.

I thought we may of been asked at our place but we haven't, they even let me cancel two holidays since the lock down so lucky that way. Would hate to sit in the house for a week be absolute lurgy prison

the problem is though that if the media keep hinting that travel ban will ease off but the government doesn't play ball, then it's a dangling carrot so people will keep holding off until they're sure they can get away - maybe it will be the autumn before flights resume. and maybe even then they will be limited? or maybe people will give up and book off that time in the garden? I dunno. Not a massive issue for me, although would like to have made it back at some point.

Scotland is a beautiful country. I think many people (me included) don't appreciate the beauty on their own doorstep. I've seen more of Spain than I've seen of Scotland. I can look over to Arran from my window, but I've only ever been there as a tiny child. Maybe a year of two of people exploring their own country rather than flying abroad wouldn't be an awful thing (for various reasons)?
Yes... *Plugs Scotland on an Ibiza website...SOWWY!!

You'll not get me in the sea though!

And these are - literally - on my doorstep in Greater Manchester...Lancashire...

Tough time for ibz Nightlife upon CNN video, i guess 2020 nightlife all around the world is over, some hope next year , time wil tell

its hard to keep social distancing 1meter in France eg train metro, i ve seen they ve made some signalisation on floors of station , people queuing in a circle paint on floor, filling train half with the fact transport industry will loose money when capacity not to maximum but better this than nothing tbh

Lockdown ending end of this week, i thought i have to go back to office next monday but manager told me she didnt have confirmation from customer,so not going back to work next monday:No worries getting paid 100% since march 18th ,it could carry until end of the year it won't bother me,it's sunny here in Paris ? (i guess ill be back in 1-2 weeks max )

3rd time going to supermarket :going early 8h00am queuing until opening at 8h30 and back home 11h15, quiet some time spent to fill the roll to max?
