the president of the balearic government has requested the central government to restrict incoming flights to the max. officially we still only have ONE case on the island and it seems general consensus that it'd be good to close airports and ports (just for traffic, not for goods) to try and avoid 'importing' further cases from the mainland or elsewhere.

Contrast with selfish scumbag tourists in Benidorm

That's my version of Hell, row upon row of boorish Brits in pubs!! And to think I was actually considering a few days there myself, thank's for the heads-up you've saved me a spoiled holiday!

Think Torremolinos is the same but the punters are older (??). But to be fair to Torremolinos there's a thriving gay scene which is usually a completely different and better experience than being amongst lager-filled racing-watching punters in pubs. But I hate the thought of being at the same table as a Brexit-voter wearing a union-jack t-shirt who thinks all Spaniards are foreigners.

And I'm sure Benedorm has nicer areas, even if not in the resort centre. Anyone been??

Tell you what it's doing the environment a ton of good. Maybe someone up there's telling us something? "Get Your Act Together Humans".

Is there not a worry that if ibiza delays the virus entering and impacting then it might end up delaying the peak phase until summer and cause the closure of everything in the months the island can least afford it?

Really worried for the island, tourism it's it's lifeblood and even if things recover by mid summer it will take time for bookings to come back. Can see a lot of small businesses going under.

I think it will be a year of no unnecessary travel, no one holidaying ,no festivals/gatherings,no cruises ect . And we at least owe the earth and people that little sacrifice... ..

Jet2 have cancelled flights to Spain, but I've no idea if that's the whole of summer (surely not?) or just a rolling shut-down so they can go back to normal ASAP?
If Ryanair do the same that puts me in a difficult position - June and Sept I have rooms booked and paid for (no refunds) so if Ryanair cancel, I get my money back there; but want to retain the rooms hoping to fly out later. If that happens, the price of the flight nearer the time could be many times greater than the current booking.
