Surprised to see PdB without seaweed. Someone has been busy cleaning the beach during the lockdown?

further down towards the tower (I walked to the far end) there was a bit of seaweed, but not massive amounts. as the sea brings it in, the sea sometimes also takes it away again. I genuinely don't think anyone has done any beach cleaning yet. but that will undoubtedly come soon.

interesting!

on the ibiza - formentera ferry they've detected a few possible cases today

done with rapid tests so now they'll do proper PCR tests on the suspects to find out whether they're 'active', whether they were false positives or whether it's people that already passed the illness.

My friends got this email as well, from one of the concept hotels. fingers crossed their optimism pays off!

It is from the concept hotels
I have emailed to ask them as I am willing to wait closer to the date would I be entitled to transfer or get a refund after my arrival date if the restrictions are still in place.

Though since writing the email I did think to myself what clubs, restaurants would be open considering there are phases. The numbers at clubs would no doubt be down so to open up as early as possible would no doubt just mean they would be opening and making a loss

think lockdown will be extended til then...
Once the numbers improve, the lockdown can be relaxed. Here in Germany, most shops were reopened 2 weeks ago, but we don't see any increase in new infections.

I begin to think that the most important factor is the behavior of the people and not the restrictions themselves. Once the majority realizes how important it is to avoid getting infected and learns to avoid risks, I guess you can pretty much live almost the normal life (minus partying). Brits (oops, Scots) will have to learn to drink outside though :)

this is what I did hear indeed yeah. that it matters massively 'how much' of the virus you catch. I'm sure some of the people on here that actually work in the field can put it in better words, but the 'viral charge' (amount you get) seems to be a very important detail. that can also be one of the reasons as to why completely healthy health care workers died here in spain - at the start of the pandemic they didn't have enough / the right PPEs and they were exposed to massive amounts of that virus.

Whether it is due to the quantity of the virus or the repeated exposure, it does appear to be a factor in the disease outcome. It could also be something like exposure site -- did the virus enter in your nose, mouth, lungs, eyes, or possibly multiple routes if there was a very large exposure.

Its unlikely we will ever have great data on this because it would be highly unethical to infect people in varying ways to test these theories. But the anecdotal evidence that people with large exposures suffer disproportionately bad outcomes seems to be strong.

Just read a very interesting article. Certainly raises some serious questions. I’d be interested to know other people’s thoughts?!

I think I've mentioned this before, I'm absolutely convinced I had it in early January (probably caught from a carer bringing it back from an exotic winter holiday) - all the symptoms were there albeit mild, and a fortnight later mum had exactly the same but it was fatal. Very high temperature at first....followed by severe breathing difficulties. I really want the test as knowing which carers came to visit us, it can be traced back.

It's all too much of a coincidence, I know what a heavy cold is, and what flu is; we both had the flu-jab and what I had felt like neither.

I know a few people here on the island who say exactly the same. in january as in your case

Glad to see Cassy has raised this ridiculous thing of DJs with the begging bowl out to pay their tour managers.

ridiculous state of affairs when multi millionaire DJs are asking the general public to ‘donate’ to their staff. Nobs

At least some of those are UK based and assuming they’re doing things above board could furlough them at least. Alan Fitzpatricks for example has another job scouting webcam models for porn sites ?
