Aha i'm going by the fact I havent seen anyone say anything other than they cant wait to get back to it, dont blame you mate a hike around bonny lock lomand sounds heaven right now
Yeah we in same boat pal, just going to see how it pans out.. our white isle trip also Ryanair and more likely to get a voluntary prostate exam off Freddy Kruger than a refund your rightI do have my late Sept flight to Ibiza booked, so if it's still going, I'll probably take it. If they're allowed to take off from Prestwick and land in Ibiza, I can't see Ryanair giving any sort of refund.
Just done something I never thought I'd do - have a look at the cost of a static caravan for a month in September....just outside Fleetwood (near Blackpool). ye Gods I kid you not...that effing desperate if we can't fly away or even travel far within the UK.I have also heard many people say they can't wait to book their hols again after canceling but most are going to rebook it for 2021 abroad
I was planning on going UK for a week this year... I wont now I don't think...
And ibiza July looks like it's off the table?
Well I'm not taking Ryanair's offer of a voucher instead, sooner try to get the money off chargeback. STILL hoping to fly in late September though.Yeah we in same boat pal, just going to see how it pans out.. our white isle trip also Ryanair and more likely to get a voluntary prostate exam off Freddy Kruger than a refund your right
I am. First month of the lockdown and my bank balance is gonna end over £600 better off, quite surprising as I have been spending a reasonable amount on alcohol plus a bit on weights etc.is anyone actually saving money? you would think so but I'm not sure we really are. supermarkets and utilities are profiteering across the board.
my understanding is that kids can exercise outdoors this week and all adults next week. (in theory) - Sanchez seemed a bit nervous in that press conference (only human!)
The bottom one is lost on me. What have I missed?
This is the conundrum. You simply can't lock people away for weeks, months on end. The authorities have to look like they are at least trying to unlock us - whether it be different ideas about how to open up safely, which places can/can't etc etc. And start to put it into practice.Quite surprised to see this happening in Germany. In my early 20's I lived there for over a year, and I found the German people to be admirably very pragmatic.
Interesting times.

I guess my savings are coming from no tube travel etc which is probably around 150 a month, no pubs which is probably 250-300 but that's offset by the beer i'm buying for home but i'm not sure where the rest comes from ?
The USD swap lines from Federal Bank of USA might prove how clever and strong Trump and USA are down the line. Countries without swap lines who lack / borrow USD will not be laughing at all. My quick prediction.

Here in the UK we are getting nowt. Just "be good girls and boys and stay indoors while the grown-ups deal with this". Frankly from this end it looks like they are simply gonna do nothing and hold us inside for months on end because they're not prepared, and they are doing nothing towards that preparation.
No committees (we have a health committee (SAGE) and we had a Brexit committee; but no exit committee. Funny how we can exit the EU but not our own houses?
So eventually patience will wear thin and frustration turns to action.
Personally I think more shops could now be opening with safe-distancing, and certainly pubs with outdoor areas. not town centre ones, those on the edges and country that have plenty of room. I'd feel safer in a pub with everyone 2m away than I would on a pavement, and more relaxed that I'm not passing the virus on.
Think we all should remember while some of us are saving money and doing alright out of this. Many others are going through some real hard times now and not actually getting paid and wondering where the next meal is gonna come from.
Lots of friends have been organising help for food banks ect which is a good thing although worrying that there is a shortage at these places. If you can spare a tenner if you haven’t already or donate any food make sure you find somewhere locally that would be so grateful for your help.![]()
also...imagine if the cure was pretty much in front of our eyes
