In the US we have a celebrity basketball player, Irving "Magic" Johnson. He caught it like 30 years ago... many remember him from the Barcelona Olympics. Still alive and well and apparently they can no longer detect the virus in his system. But there are a lot of conspiracy theories involving his particular case.

Southpark (american adult satire cartoon) did a funny episode featuring him.

Edit: I forgot that Tony Pike said that he had it (in his book), and he lived to be 80 or something...
I have two mate with HIV one from drugs and other from Sex.. both look healthy. . The girl is off Heroin years now and the guy is just happily living between here and Dublin.. not working much now as he's a buyer for some fancy clothes shop in Dublin..
PS. Bum Sex

from scotland’s daily rag..
social distancing ... even on the beaches.

Don’t know how that will work out

My in-laws live in Portugal (southern Algarve) and the feeling there is that beaches and restaurants will re-open around June / July but to Portuguese tourists only first and with social distancing on beaches and restaurants, etc. Plus mandatory masks - which will be interesting in restaurants...

With treatment HIV can be rendered undetectable in blood, but is not considered cured because if treatment stops it returns. There are documented cases of people who have had undetectable levels off treatment long enough to be considered cured but they are rare and we don’t know why or how to do it to other people.

HIV is very difficult to make a vaccine for because vaccines are supposed to elicit an immune response similar to actual infection. But HIV doesn’t really generate a response, the body isn’t able to fight it. So how do you theorize a vaccine based on a successful immune response when it doesn’t exist?

Also HIV mutates much quicker which makes it harder for a vaccine to keep up with. Coronaviruses are believed to be pretty stable over time, or at least stable enough for us to keep up with.

Found 2 people healed from hiv , maybe 3.
Now they work on a healing for everyone
they think its possible any day. I understand it like this :If its possible to find good treathments for hiv , then we find something for covid too. Dont think they make the hard goal and suffer at the easy one. That means : Its basically possible to do someting against it , its a question of time.
I tell it because there are some scientific errors for example : Fusion Energy works in 5 years since 50 years. Sometimes people are a little too optimistic with scientific timing.

Dutch new measures. Some positive news but also a slap in the face for festivals.

- primary schools back open may 11th but with classes split in half so half weeks
- secondary schools back open June 1st with social distancing measures
- team sports for children under 12 is allowed, but only training, no matches
- All big events cancelled till September 1st, including the dutch football league and all festivals
- All other measures still in force, so allowed to be on the streets max 3 people, working from home, no hairdressers, no restaurants etc.

Next decision moment: may 20th.

Thats right. It was via stem cell treatment, I think both were being treated for cancer and the treatment for that appeared to reset the required T-cells. Of course HIV lives very deep in the body and can disguise itself so we can’t be sure these small cases won’t relapse in years to come. A viable commercial cure is still a long way off for HIV and it’s possible it may not be needed due to the decline in rates eventually leading to zero transmissions.

Can’t speak for him but Can imagine that if elrowlover was posting on a sports forum he would have mentioned that it was a slap in the face for the football league. But seeing as this is an Ibiza forum i imagine that they are into the music dance festival scene like some of us are so it makes sense to add that to their comment. #justsaying

It's only really a slap in the face if the measures are unreasonable. To me, a slap in the face in this context would be to prematurely let events go ahead and have loads more infections. Potential attendees can maybe only get a refund if events are officially cancelled too?

I have some big gigs coming up in spring/summer and I hope they're cancelled! Wouldn't really fancy going along to an event where a few thousand people are packed in together anytime soon.

What's the chances of finding a few thousand people in the areas willing to go... I was to bring my mother to see Cher at Christmas.?. every cloud

I know everyone's desperate for glimmers of light but I don't think El Row has perspective on this. Entire infrastructures are getting trashed. Everything we knew is getting junked. the economic picture is terrifying. And even if festivals were given the green light, who would actually go? how would artists be found in time? and even then how could you be sure they could themselves travel? madness even thinking about it right now.

Yes I think you are right mate. The bigger picture in the months ahead hasn't even started to bite us yet.

I like to be optimistic, but I'm battening down for some tough times. Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best.

It's good to have some kind of hope, but it can be a dangerous thing sometimes.

Don’t agree with everything elrowlovers says I have to admit, and you could be right having perspective. Just think people are waiting to jump on him now with every comment he makes thats slightly off the mood at the moment, and teeing him up for a long winded to and throw argument which just gets boring and very negative.
