Sorry, but this "research" looks like BS to me. Most of covid-19 deaths happened in these polluted regions simply because the infection spread in these regions first. What matters is not the absolute number of deaths, but the ratio of deaths per 1,000 infected people - and the article conveniently avoids looking at that.

You could as well argue that tasty national cuisine contributes to Covid-19 deaths

You tend to get bad air quality in areas of high population density and that is exactly where the virus spreads fastest (i.e. on account of crowding). I would be a little cautious about articles trying to push thinly veiled climate change agendas off the back of the pandemic. I've seen a lot of it. Whilst I think it is a very important issue, I don't think this is the right way to go about trying to push for change.

because of the lockdown in India, pollution levels have lowered so the Himalayas can be seen. Apparently in Hull you can now see the other side of the Humber Bridge.

Sure but I think it’ll take a bit longer for the tens of millions of people living in say Delhi slums to feel those benefits. India has the highest levels of TB (a lung affecting disease) in the world. Im not saying TB is directly caused by man made climate change but it’s a by product of globalised inequality. Of course living in poor slums in close proximity is going to be a factor in spreading a pandemic. Pollution isn’t just in the air it’s in the filthy water that many people have no choice to drink and wash in. It’s strange at this moment there hasn’t been more reporting of the situation in India. I’m assuming their government data is hugely underreporting the real situation.

My missus has normally bought about 50 potential holiday outfits by now, but will only wear a few of them. Obviously hasn't bothered buying any now. Lost revenue for shops.

Sorry to be an arse, but better for the environment though. We might be able to afford it, but the planet certainly can't afford clothes that are only worn a couple of times a year. We need to find new ways of doing things that aren't based on buy, buy, buy. Thinking more carefully about clothing purchases is something I need to do... probably no need for me to buy any new clothes at all this year!

Bild , har har har har

Page 1 : Tits, dumb politics

Page 2 : dumb politics

Page 3 : Ufos , Kings and Queens , Car Test ( Ferrari , Mercedes , BMW )

Page 4 - 26 : Bayern Munich , Dortmund , Vettel , incorrect transfer news

Last page : Dont remember ( dont want to )

No one need stuff like this

First time I laughed today! ?

I actually avoid most media right now

Was only joking mukka, you know what women are like.

If its any consolation I've had the same holiday clothes for about 3 years+ now, I'm tighter than a ducks proverbial. I'd make a Yorkshireman jealous ?

I just get a new pair of trainers every year, but then relegate them to my running shoes.

I would say I draw the line at growing dreadlocks and eating lentils, but my hair is getting longer and with the looming recession I might need to consider eating like an vegan eco-warrior ✌

Should be interesting seeing the results of the various antibody testing across the globe in the next week or two. Really hope we find out 10% of the population already got the virus. Would be great news and a real possibility based on some reports.

[/Q In the uk most frontline staff and those supporting them are not being tested yet. My wife has had an email from our doctor: phone them for phone consultation if serious. As for myself, not heard a word, I have several of the underling conditions. "Should be interesting"

Excellent for the Himalayas , bad for hull......And that’s a good thing ? ????

You've always been able to see the other side of the humber, so not entirely sure what they referring to?

Could be about the A63, main road through city along river front to the docks which regularly breaks air pollution limits?

As for India, I hear massive hardship is been felt as a large part of the population is not full time employed but ad-hoc employed. Also they are doing very little testing and so the actual numbers are many times what is been reported. Grim.

looks good

For me that means : Hard measures make sense. Maybe the worst is behind you.
In August , you will sit in a cafe ( tables far enough and other measures ). Maybe already in July
But I dont think you will see tourists this summer.

Its burning out quickly in Europe at the moment. I can see travelers from EU but other areas of the world are so-so.

it was yesterday when I thought for the first time that we can actually see some light at the end of the tunnel here. but we'll have to be very careful, I fear in some places in europe the measures might get lifted too early and we get a relapse. interesting times ahead.

Well I've just ordered off amazon a half face mask thing, as uk are reviewing this today. My suspicion is will say must be worn in public in shops etc, and there will be a rush on them ?‍♂️

From what I read, paper ones are useless, poor fitting usually and only really supposed to be worn for 20 mins or so. The proper virus filter ones are very hard to come by and I think should be reserved for health care workers, so I went with something properly fitting that can be washed.

Reason think they might change it is Austria and Hungary both introduced lockdowns at same time, but Hungary also introduced mask wearing in public. The graphs of cases diverge until point Austria also introduces mask wearing and it's new cases drop to track Hungary's ?‍♂️
