They’ve just extended our 24hr lockdown again so we’re in the same boat at Spain, we’re just finishing up week 4 I think. Would love it if the rest of the world could pull it together so we could crack on with this.

That video of people clapping in Westminster Bridge was a bloody joke!!
Same outside loads of hospitals, loads of NHS and emergency services workers flouting guidelines. Ridiculous.

It's easy to feel jaded but I totally get it. in Spain it's a nightly opportunity for people to let off steam and come together after being cooped up all day. Last night we were walking to a shop around 8pm just as it started. A month later I still find it incredibly powerful hearing the noise spreading across balconies everywhere. A trite analogy perhaps but it almost reminds me of the best parties i went to bitd where everyone was on the same level. That rush of togetherness. The big tune you currently hear everywhere is called Resistiré by long forgotten 60s band Duo Dinámico! Tentative signs that some things might be relaxing in the shops. No queues for Lidl yesterday but early days..

I get that 100%

But it's the irony of it actually harming the nhs rather than supporting it. As people are literally seshing it every night here, big gatherings in gardens.

The weather is amazing here at the minute.

We done brilliant here initially with social distancing and lockdown. Our schools and pubs closed when the republic did rather than waiting for Boris and the rest of the UK and it has really had a good effect on our hospitals.
My non essential clinics were cancelled so I volunteered to do proning but as of yet the hospital staff are coping and we are not needed.

But as others mentioned I can also see the wheels starting to fall off the social distancing / lockdown.

yeah the real challenge is when people just get fed up or cut corners. my gf is really sporty and used to walking miles. she feels completely caged whereas slightly less of an issue for an armchair general like me. a lot of relationships which depended on a certain degree of distance will collapse. i think societies denied beach access all summer would actually go mental. I fear tough times ahead but the Spanish govt has to do the right thing not the popular thing.

same in stivi towers, just the other way around though. my wife loves being at home, I'm feeling caged and every day it gets a little harder now.

not confirmed yet, but some newspaper articles hint at our lockdown possibly being kept strict until 11th may :( only exception might be families with kids possibly being able to go out of the house a little.

this would mean another three weeks of total confinement :(
Welcome to the club ?

To be honest it's hard for me to stay positive, I lost my job, I can't looking for a new one at the moment, and the situation of the economy really scares me for the future.
I understand perfectly I have to respect the lockdown, and I do, but every day locked at home is harder than the day before.

Write a book based on all your Ibz experiences. You have so many stories and knowledge. It would be a great read.

I'm serious man. it would be a fantastic read!

then maybe send to Spotlight who could branch out into marketing Ibz-related literature in different languages ? a possible money spinner whilst business is down?

Unpopular opinion...
The whole clapping thing is a load of balls

Every Thursday my street looks like that Westminster Bridge video except there's a shitty dj blasting music and everybody is drinking cans.
Instead of a genuine show of appreciation, it's now become trashy and chavvy like remembrance day - "how big is your poppy? If your house isn't covered with thousands of them you don't care...blah blah".
Also note that 40% + of then voted for a party that has dismantled the NHS bit by bit over the last 10 years. How do you spell hypocrisy? My country isn't my country any more.
