The President of the United States is actively inciting rebellion against states that are extending lock downs. Michigan had a protest this week and they have the 4th most cases in the US.

The states are forming regional coalitions because the federal government has been so inept. I'm in a pretty safe state thusfar, but we share borders with some worse off states which means we have to coordinate with them. If we were to open up, people would flee the lock down to here. Its starting to grow resentment that even though we are following orders, its doesn't make any difference if other states are messed up.

I truly hope biden wins the election. not a fan of him as a person, but at this stage, pretty much anything is better than trump IMO.

what state do you live in if you don't mind me asking?

Driving around London over last couple of days going to work (key worker) I really think the lockdown is falling to bits in the UK. People openly having beers, picnics, playing football, cricket, tennis on Wandsworth common. Seems to have fallen out the media but we need to crank it up a notch for a few weeks for the long term benefit imo, people taking the absolutes p1ss.

I think that's a little bit obtuse. My brother in law is a rozzer and he says its going pretty well in our part of the UK.

Looks like London is struggling with it though, but I'm only basing that from what I'm seeing on the news, and additionally from reading your comment as well now.

Wisconsin. We just extended to May 26th. Less than 5,000 cases in the state, population just under 6 million. Seeing 100-200 cases per day since late March, no exponential growth. I'm in the most populous area of the state, where we have a lot of back and forth with Chicago -- but most of the state is pretty rural farmland with no mass transit. Hospitals are at about 50% capacity statewide right now.

As long as Chicago is having problems, we are always going to be on the verge of starting a new cluster here.

exactly videos like this make me think you might at some point. I hope not though!!

Would probably help if the Met Police upped their game a bit and enforced fining.

I noticed the Italian and Spanish police appeared to be very firm on enforcement.

I'm in no way a fan of this sort of thing (had my fair share of speeding tickets) but times like this I think its a necessity.

I saw some people casually having a game of cricket in a London park, on the news last week, and I was astonished.

I have noticed road traffic is definitely up. I live off the A3/Clapham Road and that is a lot busier than previously when i could guarantee I would be able to cross the road without looking 4/5 times before but now probably 1/5 max. In terms of people about Clapham common is very busy but mainly walkers, I imagine a lot of them would never be walking if they weren't persuaded to go out for a walk. Police were driving on the common yesterday just to naturally disperse people.
Small fact i heard = Apparently in terms of heat maps, Wandsworth were the top in the Uk for people staying home in comparison to usual.

I can hear @ElrowLovers crying

I have to disappoint you and everyone else. ;) And yeah off course, no worries. I can handle a bit of counter gas and jokes.

We're still on the same strategy. A semi lockdown (I can go wherever I want just not in large groups) and herd immunity was never a strategy but a side-effect.

No change in strategy, no full lockdown, but we have strongly declining numbers of sickness and deaths.

I’ve mentioned this before but apart from the first week of this semi lockdown the roads have still had plenty traffic on them! I know for a fact companies/places of work are starting to open back up (even though in reality were under the same law/instruction off the gov as we were 3/4 weeks ago!!)

yeah I have no doubt the vast majority are following the rules and it’s a handful of divs who stand out. I also think it is harder than other places of the country to self isolate in London with higher proportions of people living in overcrowded tiny high rise flats or bedsits etc but still did really wind me up the other day driving past that common.

Yeah, in London the vast majority are in house shares and a reasonable share of those don't have a garden. Another big share are living in council flats with kids etc. I think London in terms of percentages in comparison to elsewhere is doing better than the rest of the country but it will always be accentuated here due to the population density, also when somewhere is busy here people don't think better of it they seem to carry on as before so when pictured it looks stupid, and it is.

Population density is a massive factor in terms of this virus which is why you can't simply compare deaths per 100k people and stats like that.

Yesterday radio slave, truncate,, chris leibing and dubfire all did a zoom live fb chat and were talking about whether they were going to do new music or wait

Chris leibing said he is working on a new album and some of them said they were trying to generate income by doing remixes etc

One of them said had to do some music in a documentary but got halted due to the virus and is now thinking of ways that can generate income to support family

Really interesting chat to see it from a Dj perspective on how the music scene and coronavirus will affect them

They’ve just extended our 24hr lockdown again so we’re in the same boat at Spain, we’re just finishing up week 4 I think. Would love it if the rest of the world could pull it together so we could crack on with this.

That video of people clapping in Westminster Bridge was a bloody joke!!

Agree, some of the things people are doing to try and do some 'good' are becoming misguided. Also seen the Fire Brigade warning against letting off Chinese Lanterns 'for the NHS' due to the fire hazard and risk to wildlife for example.
