? agitation levels building. When James turns up I’m being deleted so enjoy it while it lasts!
I really doubt you will be deleted for anything you posted so far.

I think many of us are having a internal dialogue that you two are having right now on the forum. Some things I agree with you on , and on others I dont.

It will be about balance.

Live vs Livelyhood.
Hope vs Fear.
Data vs Agenda

Nobody will really know what was right to think or do until this is long-over.

Ha. I don’t want to be right when it comes to how long this lasts. You sum it up very well. I’m going if my own accord mate. Time to flounce off. It’s been coming a while. All the best. At least it was an entertaining end for some!

LuckyBlueSuit has personally asked not to participate any more. it's a shame, as we always welcome diversity of opinion. he's been with us for ages and it's a great shame to see him go. hopefully he'll be back soon!

The UK figures are all over the place, they are now testing more people, so the number "with" CV will naturally increase. That will include the carriers (??). So the only real figure we can go off is the number of deaths daily so there will be a lag between that and the lockdown. If the lockdown is working, those numbers should go down from next week, if they don't then it isn't working (here in the UK) so what the heck do we do next? But the scientists say it will peak this weekend-ish and then steady then fall. Hope they're right.

Just a shout for this young lady - 99 and survived CV. Good news indeed!!

A shame, if he's reading this I hope he rejoins the forum.

My only issue was the tone in which he responded to me, with exclamation marks etc.

I don't accept that face to face so not going to accept it online.

It REALLY sucks that. But trouble is cemetaries are hotspots for all sorts of nefarious shenanigans and I am guessing they just can't be policed properly. But there is a very fine line between what is essential emotionally and what is essential physically for people. The former is very much being quashed whilst the latter is accommodated.

I live down the street from a big cemetery - and scenic - and it only took a few days after parks closed for everyone to start congregating there. They had to close it out of necessity. Prob happening in most places, unfort.

I'm on the negative side but home from work and really surprised about how many very old patients with cova surviving and going home

Got to have the will to fight and survive when you are that ill - many of these people have lived through extreme hardship after the War and the mind is a very powerful thing. Only so much the NHS can do to give them a chance at life, some will lose the fight despite a will to live but for others it may be tempting to just throw in the towel - especially if they feel alone and isolated.

Sadly, outside of Covid the suicide toll from isolation measures continues to rise

Another opinion;

4500 newly infected and 600 new deaths in spain in the last 24hrs. it's big numbers, but it's one of the 'best' results in the past two weeks. 3.0% growth in cases.

balearics have 40 new cases. I'll put the specific numbers in the other thread later when I have ibiza and formentera specific figures

Another opinion;

Yes indeed, younger generations have little frame of reference - but the older generation most at risk definitely does and a lot of them will draw on their experiences to get them through this. As this all unfolds, alongside the obvious trauma and damage, more and more people who have spent their lives in developed countries will come out of it stronger and more resilient in the long run. Appreciate a lot of people don't want to hear or agree with that but as far as I'm concerned it's a fact. We are part of nature however much we try as a species to pretend we are above it and survival of the fittest is the basic rule.

On a different note >>

I'm going to phone tomorrow and try to get a refund. I was meant to be flying to Mexico with BA last Sunday and that was cancelled. After a lengthy phone call, I got a refund.

I couldn't get through at all yesterday but phoned BA this morning and have got a full refund for both flights. Would prefer money over vouchers, especially as who knows what's going to happen.

ibiza coronavirus thread updated. only one new case detected on ibiza and formentera in the past 72hrs, that's a start!
Once we have one full day with no detected cases I promise I will walk to my local offie (shop that sells beer) and bring back a suitcase of San Mig and drink the lot....
Sadly that won't mean the end of deaths due to the lag, but that should be around 21 days later.

Note; I was feeling very down last week - thanks to those who PM'd me - xxx - and I'm feeling a bit more upbeat today. keep that good news coming Mr. S!!!

Well I tried to to out for first time in 10 days (food shopping). Bloody hell what a nightmare.
Car wouldn't start, had flat battery, AA came out and sorted it.
So got to shops late and thus a 15 min queue to get in and some things I wanted not in.
Finally get home and can't find the spare car keys (the AA guy used them) that should be in my coat pocket.
Can't find them any where, so drive back to shops and fortunately find someone had handed them in ?

So something that was supposed to take 30 mins took all morning ?‍♂️

I've now got a car battery charger on order from Amazon. Apparently the AA are getting a lot of call outs for flat batteries.

I'm kinda glad I don't have to leave the house for another 10 days! ?
