back on the coronavirus subject. I'd like to pick @Hurr1cane 's brains since he seems to be the best informed on this.

here in spain they said that today was the first day where in all autonomías (our regions) the R was below 1. a little hurrah but I understand it was just one day for now (I think the balearics alone have had their R below 1 for a while already).

on the other hand, the much talked swedish model, where in the past few days numbers have gone up quite a bit now.

what do you make of those numbers? what's your conclusion so far? am genuinely curious.

How's everyone getting on with the lack of social contact?

Me and my mates have never been the kind of people to call each other at all, I've probably never had a phone call beyond a minute with any friend unless it was out of necessity or to pass some information on. Last Saturday i had my first video call with a mate and one of a couple of girls we met in Ibiza 2018 ?. Other than that i have only spoken to my two housemates in person for about 4 weeks now, it's rather weird.

It's very boring, home workouts are so much harder even with equipment and I just want to be able to go to a pub and chat with people. I feel like a trip to Ibiza in the summer will be the perfect cure for this so i'm crossing my fingers there. The best thing to come out of this is DJs doing live streams though, Friday/Saturday nights i just spend my time drunk watching them and messing about in the chats ?. Was hoping for a cable to come today for my decks but that didn't arrive so i won't be on them this weekend :spank:

the live streams are definitely helping for the wife and me like, still a feeling of connectivity between us and our friends when we all streaming same set and liaising

We are the same, we have a large watsapp group and we just talk there, but because there's so many of us it's usually all lads banter and proper talks can go a miss.

But a few of us have been making a point to call or group video call, so ironically I feel like our contact has improved a little.

Iiv also made a point of contacting my parents more, probably taked to them more the last few months than I did all year.

one of the very few perks to come from this epidemic is with the whole non-gigging globally there is bound to be some hellish new music amidst isolation being produced all over the world ready to be unleashed on d'floors upon the corona's exit

oh yeah. I've already read some comments from label peeps alluding to that.

I really really miss seeing my close friends.

Yeah me and my friend have been in one together, it's a laugh. Defected are streaming from Mambo now on facebook/youtube with one of the brothers doing a set

I am fine...luckily I love my own company

I have been keeping touch with family from UK, had video time with bro and mum the other day which I have never done but that was nice..and have been videoing with friends

Working from home keeps me busy

Listening to music everyday is nice and puts me in a better mood but then it makes me miss Ibiza even more and makes me want to go out so bad

I have watched ozark season 3 (amazing) just started mind hunter, watched tiger king (loved it) watched italian drama gamorra loved it

So what neighbor is annoying you the most during this pandemic? The ones doing the full gym work out in the front garden for everyone to see or the wide eyed guys walking around with partners and kids like they have just won them on a game show...
The ones with the fckn jet wash issues.

I imagine Solomon in his studio for the 19th straight day, beard longer than Stivi’s, with a mountain of new tunes.

I definitely didn't expect to feel the way I do being socially isolated. I'm working from home (grateful I'm working, as many are not), but do not like it at all. I'm a teacher, so am usually around people all the time.

I also am on the phone and having video meetings several times a day (for work) and then with friends and family in the evenings, but it doesn't compare to seeing anyone in person. It's so weird to not have had a real conversation with anyone for weeks!

I have a new niece/nephew coming any day now and it saddens me to think I may not be able to have cuddles with him or her for months!

Definitely the live streams help - Music is on constantly! And yeah... the home workouts are definitely NOT going as planned! ?

Some djs are really going to find it hard not being able to Dj in a club....
The smart ones should do ok though. I see Judge Jules had 40,000 watching his live stream last weekend. He’s probably not had those numbers since Radio 1. Giuseppe Ottaviani and PvD (two other djs who are in my fave lists) are doing really well on their live stream numbers as well. Likewise Bob Sinclar on his daily shows. All of those are probably reaching far bigger audiences than they would have otherwise.

Crazy... When they do finally get to Dj in clubs again they may even have more successful nights and more gigs

I've just came back away to work this week, left home Tuesday.

I was home for 3 weeks, literally got home just before the UK lockdown. I can honesty say I think it's been 3 weeks that has changed the UK.

Not sure how long I will be away but I'm confident I've got my little family into a good routine and they can make it through this while I'm away and they are still alone on lockdown. Told them they need to stick together and work together for each other. ?

8 year old daughter - handling it pretty well. Like a bit of an adventure. Was getting up early every day with me and we had tea and toast for brekky. Misses everyone and cries a bit when she remembers we are in lockdown. Writes letters to her Grandparents and we go around and post them and wave through the window as part of our daily exercise. Also loves doing Joe Wicks type workouts in front of the TV with some little mini dumbbells. Hilarious to watch, however I'll be very surprised if my TV screen isn't cracked by the time I get home! ?‍♂️

15 year old daughter - holy shit! Anyone else got a teenage kid? Are we allowed to beat them? Asking for a mate (joking btw). This lockdown hit her hard. Shes a very sociable and popular kid, so has found this harder than the rest of us I think. About 3 days in she went in a bit of a strop and said she was going out with her friend to the shops. Had to sit her down and spell out what this is all about, daily death rates in Italy etc. She burst out crying. Think I went in a bit too hard. Shit. She went into a bit of a quiet moody spell for a week. Critical time for her at school and she enjoys her studies and also her gymnastics. Obviously she's missing having this stuff in her life and its a bit of a nasty shock for her. Happy to report my last week at home she pulled it around and got into a better routine. Stopped being a stroppy teenager and got more involved with us, and has become generally happier. I think the break from her friends is actually doing her good. Teenagers are ars eholes.

Mrs AntonioG - Initially had a massive panic on over the whole thing. Naturally something like this triggers peoples anxieties. If overthinking was an Olympic sport she'd have several Gold medals already. Joking aside, shes actually shown she is very resilient and has adapted really well to the whole thing. She works in a special needs school and had been doing one day a week, but is now working from home as its much safer.

Myself - Well, what can you do? You just have to get on with it I suppose. Its hard to watch your family dealing with something like this, I mean physically its very easy just staying home. But the mental duress and uncertainty is something that has got to them. I found when I was home I had been training a lot harder, putting more into my running. Usually in challenging times its my default setting. Keeps my mind sharp.

A crazy flipside to this is I have spent 3 good weeks with them. Quality time with no distractions. Usually they are at school and work and the hussle and bustle of daily life can get in the way. Suppose you have to enjoy these things while you can, in light of the ongoing situation.

General observations so far:
  • Next time there is any word of a lockdown coming, I need to get a haircut first. Got a massive bouffant ket wig going on here.
  • Home schooling is not my forte. Could maybe scrape by as a PE teacher. Genuinely concerned about this.
  • I hate Facebook. Or mainly the know-it-all bell ends that never stop dripping on.
  • I hate shopping more than I did before.
  • We generally only buy what we need and don't hang about in the supermarket. Literally go, grab what we need then leave (paying obviously)
  • The kids are awesome at doing house chores. Keen as mustard and they are quick learners. What a result. I like this. Massively.
  • We were watching the daily govt corona-virus briefings religiously every night. Volume up, phones down.
  • The garden is looking amazing.
  • I'm banned from the trampoline for life.

Hope you're all keeping well ??

Being on my own gives me the opportunity to do stuff that I wouldn't want others to see. (Stop giggling at the back). Today I found an old London bus toy which had been lying all sad and forlorn in the garage for xyz years.

So naturally I dug it up and cleaned it up a bit, and using cutlery, plates and whatever I could find I made my kitchen table into central London, and drove the bus round, bruum...brummm, peep peep brummm.

I'm sixty one. And a half.
