I don't doubt any of this. but I think we can all cope with two to three months. some better, some worse, no doubt.

It will be strange though. For example at the minute if you’re walking on the pavement with someone coming towards you they quickly run over to other side of road it’s mental:lol: dunno how we can just get back to normality in a flash when this is over. Plenty People will See social distancing as a new way of life...

Been practicing it for years mate lol! It will actually make some people have anxiety when leaving the house.

They are going to have to do it in phases. Otherwise 2nd or 3rd peaks and around we go.

The public won't like that (even though they voted for it) - they might get away with it for another 7 days but that's about the limit IMO.

I’m all for those empty heads catching it and 8% dying to be honest

anyone found breaking isolation waives all rights to healthcare assistance ?

The reason why I go to Ibz is : The people are what they are. Has advantages and disatvantages. Generally the life is better in Italy and spain as northern of the alps. But in times like these the german or swiss mentality is not bad.

Unfortunately it wouldn't be limited to just them.

It does read from some people along the lines of: this is an inconvenience to my life so can we switch from a proven method to reduce spread and death to an unproven one, so I can do things I want.

Yes, will be other costs and inconveniences, but know what also is inconvenient? Death.

I know of half a dozen people who are at high risk in my close family circle. God knows how many in my community.

Tldr: it's about protecting others, so no, f*** off with your indignity at not been able to sunbathe in the park or go see sports etc.

I'm defo feeling triggered today ??

Here it's funny, the half North is more like Germans, the half South more like Spanish or Italians.
Luckily I live in the second half.

I think people WILL stick to the rules - volunterily - if they can see an end-point, if something is being worked on. Example, if the government said - and kept - a promise of returning gradually back to normal by the bank holiday weekend, I think the majority would accept that.

But if they say nothing, and indeed harden the rules, then people will simply rebel. The majority of prisoners are given a release date when put away by a judge, and we haven't committed a crime!!

All parties have to look at the psychological effects of this and prevent a mass breakout making things worse.

it's the mediterranean way of life.
Same here...

As long as there is no effective vaccination, we will just have to get used to changing our lifestyle radically, I fear.

An effective drug might simplify things, but the only real solution is vaccination.
And this will take at least (!) another 1.5 years, we should slowly get used to the fact that this virus will accompany us for a very long time !

It’s not a child having to study for its exams. It’s a virus, there isn’t any real data yet as to when or how it goes back to normal. Well unless we use China’s communist style lockdown. Also lols at a bank holiday being used as the bartering tool

Can’t remember my grandad ever telling me stories about the war and Churchill setting a definitive end date to motivate them on

So you're one of the problem people who are going to increase the risk of community spread and death. Sounds very society minded of you ?

It's a minimum of 2 metres, plus actually 6-10 metres is the range of a cough or sneeze they've just discovered. It's all about reducing community spread.

Don't forget it is also airborne, so you can be breathing out virus and not show symptoms ?‍♂️

I get really f***ed off with peeps posting, "oh it's no worse than seasonal flu, 20k die from that a year". People with no grasp of the science and statistics. Yes, uk Hope's to have 20k or less deaths *with* all these restrictions.

With the minimal restrictions before lockdown it was estimated around 250k.
*With no restrictions like normal flu, estimated 500k dead in uk.*
No I'm not on of those people, because i'm following the dutch Lockdown-rules and that's 1.5 m meters distance from others and no gatherings larger than 4 people in public, unless you're with a family.

Well that is ok then. But it does seem a lot of people are more along the lines of, what can I get away with vs. What should I really be doing for others?‍♂️.

Its come a bit cloudy here, so maybe that will help ?

Exactly this is what scares me and what's being discussed in the documentary tomorrow.

I understand. That's the problem here too and that's why they have closed off the ways to the beach and parks now. So basically it's a less strict lockdown...but when there's nothing outside to do...the effect is kinda the same. It's sunny and almost 20 degrees here so that aint helping.
I'm in my garden by the way...not in the park ;-)

Most of the time when you post something on here about this, people are shooting you down or they twist what you are saying and use it against you. It’s a real shame and makes boring reading, despite no one on here being an expert or knowing what will happen.

Thanks. It's nice to know that some people at least partly agree or have enough interest to actually read what im saying and see if there's another view on this global problem than just nod and follow what everyone else is saying.
And I do realize that it's hard to read emotion in text, but I never said we should just let people die or stuff like that. Again, thanks!
