Serious question are the hookers on lock down in the red light district of Amsterdam?
Yes they are! And they are covered with a minimum income by the government emergency funds now.

However there is a big problem with sex workers that are not in the red light district..
There are loads of them advertising on the internet and they are not covered by the emergency funds. So what happens is they are still advertising their services illegally and potentially spreading the virus.

It’s not a child having to study for its exams. It’s a virus, there isn’t any real data yet as to when or how it goes back to normal. Well unless we use China’s communist style lockdown. Also lols at a bank holiday being used as the bartering tool

Can’t remember my grandad ever telling me stories about the war and Churchill setting a definitive end date to motivate them on
So what do you tell all those stuck in high-rise flats with kids/pets and without even a balcony? Sorry, you're locked in indefinitely? And if you did, what would the response be? In the war at least people got out!!

Remember we are dealing with people who follow the herd for no good reason - vote Brexit, vote Tory, hoard loo-rolls....

If one breaks rank, they all will. That will only make things worse.

Maybe need to do what some other countries do. Only certain genders out on certain days, but extend it to say birth month or initial of surname to certain hour on certain days etc. That way you can mitigate the mad hordes of people flooding public spaces.

Still not risk free as gonna get social mixing .

Coronavirus: Why Dutch lockdown may be a high-risk strategy https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-52135814

Apparently that and hairdressing closed in the Netherlands
Funny that this British article is claiming that the Netherlands has high mortality rates and the infection is spreading rapidly.
In the beginning of the outbreak we had a quick spread, but the mortality rates have been going down since march 27th. Today it was reported 115 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours. The number of people checked into a hospital has been going down since march 23th. Today 253 people were taking into a hospital. We still have enough IC capacity for the next two or three weeks but the amount of new people needing IC is getting lower every day.
There is a visible downwards trend for the past week, so it's kinda strange that the BBC published this article today.

But I've seen dutch newspapers doing this with Spain or Italy numbers too....so it's a bit like journalists going: Hey, we're doing bad, but look at those crazy countries, they're doing worse. Which is incredibly immature and mostly untrue. Except when you're looking at how Trump has handled this from February till now off course.

It's a shame some f***wits ruin it for others. Police should crack down on those people, but I guess becomes a minefield to police compared to a full lockdown.

Can't believe people been going to parks to sunbathe ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️

It doesn't really affect me as i exercise inside and do have a garden. Not too great for those without private open space.

Went for a walk in our very own West Park yesterday and people were on the skateboard park and using the outdoor gym equipment without being 2 metres apart ?

There would have to be some leeway for dog owners who don't have any outside space such as those in flats however.

We have that problem here in a hotel near me that rents rooms long term for the winter months.. one is a knocking shop and still rocking I've been told..

A "few weeks" - so we HAVE an endpoint?

No. Use whatever measurement helps you, a week, few weeks, months whatever. I’ve been self isolating for coming up to 4 weeks now. No real bother, just break it down into weeks at a time.

I personally am also coping far better than I imagined. I've got a pretty nervous and hyperactive personality and I love being outdoors and to move around so I truly expected it to be far worse than what it's been like up until now

I understand what @2H76 is saying, there is no end in sight for most countries. While you might cope with that pretty good, lots of people cannot.
I still think it's pretty insane how easy we gave up all of our freedom and everyone just settled in with indefinite lockdowns. Never imagined that was possible so easily for governments to do.

Might be no bother for you, but it's gonna be crisis point for those banged up in high-rise cells. All of us have to look at the wider picture: I'm still OK in a large-ish house with a garden - but my "I'm OK Jack" attitude won't prevent others in hopeless situations wanting to get out and about.
If I were locked in with wife, kids in a 2-bed flat, telling me "a few weeks" and then "a few weeks more" would turn me either suicidal or more determined to escape with the family.
Neither of which helps the NHS.

apartment block living is much more common in Germany, Italy, Spain. How are they all doing given they are a few weeks ahead of us?
Stivi ? Much reports on high suicide rates in apartment block residents in Spain?

I wouldn't normally (make that ever!) direct anyone to the Daily Mail (sorry for swearing) but it's worth scanning the comments - and remember these are more-than-likely have voted for and support the current government.

Note - I distance myself from most of the views expressed!!

Let’s be honest what has the mighty EU done in this current environment. Nothing! In the most challenging of times it’s proved worthless.

Each county is looking after their own interests at the moment. So much for sharing common values and looking after each other in a time of need.

So most of those comments are bad...nothing to say about that.

BUT politicians saying: This small group of people are ruining it for the rest, now you all have to go into a stricter lockdown, shame on you people for wanting some sunshine and fresh air, you're killing people, it's your own fault etc. ..... is kinda ridiculous right??
We've seen that happen in the Netherlands too, the minister of justice pointing with his finger on live tv. Everybody was like come on...is this primary school where my teacher is letting everyone stay in class longer because one student did something wrong?
It's also disturbing that politicians are not seeing that they are creating civil unrest. We've now seen fights on the street and in supermarkets here because people are highly stressed and when someone's says "hey, keep your distance" or something like this...people explode.
