Circoloco closing

It has become a little too busy sadly. I think 1 big night (Circo Loco) on a Monday is too much for DC10. Pandemonium on a Friday has been pretty dman good this year, and maybe the line-ups there need to be further boosted to try and take some of the pressure off Monday. e.g. Circo Loco Part II.

I arrived (without a ticket) at 5:30pm and the entrance was still rather empty plus it took a few hours for the club to get filled.
Next time be wiser regarding time schedule otherwise u see the consequences.
Hpe u had a good time at the other parties cause i sure did!

well i checked the line up slots and wanted to go see those on later not earlier. not hanging about a club for 14 hours paying a fortune for drinks for the privilege. any club.

will be giving both opening and closings a miss next year. had a great time but enjoyed nights in the main season far more. vibe on theisland better too. for me anyhow.
 
Its just the End of Sept generally that is mad now. Resorts are generally empty but most of the people there are going to the same nights.

We went DC10 on 19th Sept.....was mad rammed - and we hated it. Word was that that particular night was the busiest of the season so far. Uncontrolled ticket sales and CircoLoco being a "must do" night for everyone has meant you couldn't move in terrace or main room, had to queue across whole club to get to the gents (if the q even moved at all) the portaloo's were a free for all and then when you were outside you couldnt get back in. More West End style"Brits" than usual too.

I think the surprise crowds on 19th were the reason the 26th was sold out in PDB by 14:00 on the day. Restricted ticket sales I think but we still got in fine on the door at 5:30pm. We found a vague space at the Front bar on the Terrace and stayed dancing around there until we got fed up of people squeezing past and just standing there watching the DJ. We moved further back close to a fan for a bit (again squeezing past people who don't seem to realise the place is packed and were dancing like they were the only person in the venue) and had a decent spot for the next 4 hours. A friend left at 12:00 so me and the gf had a bit of a wander and found a load of space in the Main Room so stayed in there for Boris Werner. Pretty sure there were less people there on 26th compared to 19th although outside was still a nightmare around the kitty litter. Movement in and out of the venue was OK though. Didnt see any daft queuing like we did on 19th. More annoying Gents toilet closures though. Fairly sure they could knock a hole in back of gents and have a 1-way system out at least.

The VIP area in Main Room is a joke too. I've never seen anyone in it.

Went to the DC-10 closing last year and stayed inside as the terrace and the outside bit were too busy too, sounds like this year was worse though.

When we went this year at the start of Sep it was fine. Guess it was a one off!

Sad that Circo loco packed them in like that. We constantly have a go at SWM and Guetta for overcrowding their nights at Pacha and DC-10 are doing the same thing.

Gutted I missed Space closing, it was a cracker by all accounts

My mate went to space closing.

He was listening to carl cox for a while and only mean't to leave to pop to the little boys room but "accidently" walked through the room where lawler was playing - He never made it back to carl cox.

Apparently Lawler was amazing, he had the whole room in the palm of his hand and he said it was one of the best sets he has heard in a very very long.

After he had finished he went up and told lalwer that was one of the best sets he has ever heard and that it made his holiday.. hahahaha
 
When was Lawlers set?

Didnt know any set times. Also, does anyone know who the dj on the sunset terrace was? Really enjoyed it out there in the sunshine.

Re: Brits abroad West End style in DC10... I agree!!! I actually had this scottish guy say to me 'for f*** sake, there are so many f***ing Spanish people in here'.... What a joke!!!! I felt like telling him to p*** off back to the West-end.
 
arrived at DC10 at around 10pm to find a cue of about 200 people and already closed doors. was there ever in the history of ibiza clubbing an instance when a club actually closed because of too many people?

had to go to bora bora instead as seemed everyone i talked to at borabora that night :)

was disappointed at first but now that i hear about the night here in the forum... pheww!
 
We headed to bora bora too... we got in about 10 pm, I got in first and then waited about 10 minutes for the others to come in behind me. It was scary... The dc10 after was brilliant though.... so made up for it 8)

We arrived at Pandemodium closing at about 00:00 and our taxi was leapt upon by a two lads. "whats it like?" I asked. "****, get back in the taxi and come to the West End with us" they said.

We didnt take them up on the offer. Sure, the club was quiet but had barely opened. By 3am it was rammed and jumping. Idiots!

We got our wristbands from the ticket booth about 1/4 of an hour before that .. highlights from the queue :

- Woman being literally grabbed by the hair and pulled back from the front of the queue by incredibly rude couple (guy and his girlfriend) wanting to get to the front (animals !!!) 8O

- Me being grabbed by the wrist 1 place from the front of the "line" and then used as a battering ram by security to charge a line of 200 people back.. only to let those at the back take the places of those of us who had queued to get to the front. How rude. Just made me get the hump and be even more determined to get in. :x

- General mosh pit surging rammed so tight you could not even get your arm above your head :?

- Girls stropping everywhere trying to barge in because they had wristbands on (we all did, my dears !!!) and guys barging at each other. It helps to be a smaller build sometimes - at least I could wriggle through all you f***ers - and yes, I got in and you didn't .. much good did it do me :lol:

A real chilled night out all round :roll:

yes, Pacha closed their door at least 1-2 times this season on the SHM nights around 2am.


i didn't make it to Ibiza this year but last year was at Circolo the 1st monday of September... nothing like the horror stories i'm hearing about last week! i remember no cue to get in and short bathroom lines... i don't think i'd enjoy last week's closing party either based on the reviews i'm reading on here!
 
I will be checking out nights like Pandemonium next year... Most of the time I dont really mind who is DJing, so long as Im enjoying it. It really has become more of 'the place to be seen' listening to Jamie Jones and the like...

I would rather catch him somewhere else and enjoy it, be able to go to the bar and loo when I want... :lol:

And to think it wasn't that long ago that DC10 was shut because apparently -

"They carry on having the same capacity and licenses as before, so inside they have cafe concierto license for 74 people, while in the terrace they have bar license for 125 people. Outside, as they have bar license, they cant play music". San Jose Council (Source: Ultima Hora 22/08/09)

well, whenever it started... its over-rated.

I remember tickets going for 15 euros in 2007... how has it become this?
 
Circoloco was still great on 29th August despite the "tourists" who didn't stay around for very long once they had clearly "been seen" and the music being a bit of a challenge for them. Helped in no small part by the Spanish contingent there and the DJs being so on form. Also the lack of a discobus helps ;) !!!

I monitored the flight prices and availability this September very carefully and it was clear a huge number of people had decided to go in the last 2 weeks of that month. It was way harder to get flights and accommodation than at the same time in 2010. It can be very "telling" as far as what to expect when you get out there from year to year - sounds like September was the new August this year.

As to the closing, well, let's not beat about the bush - when Paris Hilton is carried in to an "underground party" through the crowd you know the party's over ! Long live P****** P*****.

I am getting the same feeling in my bones about WHP being somewhere people are going just because they think it's cool... One of the best nights I had this year was Bill Patrick & Seth Troxler playing B2B at the little club Le Spartacus near Marseilles in France, which still has a proper underground vibe, no sign visible from the road, a denial of knowledge of whereabouts by the locals (good luck finding it !!) and a perfect balance of numbers.

Until 4am at least when Seth on his own started the brain-fried chord hanging thing.. which is great for a monged out recovery room but not for the main dancfloor.

Ibiza is not really the best place for underground parties and hasn't been for years (I don't expect that any more - and the reason I go so often is because of what else is on offer alongside the big clubs, both in terms of alternative venues and more importantly the rest of the island itself). It's the "package" not the clubs which do it for me.

The last 2 hours of circoloco closing were FANTASTIC! Ask anyone who was there until the end... the music was amazing!

Of course it's going to be crowded, and there were some points between 3-5 that were just ridiculously crowded and aggresive inside and the music was a bit meh..., but it is a closing party.!

Everyone I talked to who stayed until the end and anyone I was dancing with until the end agreed the last 2 hours were the best by far!

Totally worth it!!!:) 8)

Great to hear some good feedback on the night finally - a bit like Space, if I'd been able to would have gone in by choice only for the last few hours from 1-2am'ish.

Unfortunately the policy there of closing the doors to entry about 10pm meant this wasn't an option so no grief/meh music for hours on end waiting = no party. Also ironically think it's better when the garden is not used for a dance arena - when this is rammed with people standing around needing air from the club inside it's not a good place to dance and nor is there enough space to take some time out from dancing / hang out and talk to people without being jostled. Who's winning with that arrangement ? It doesn't make for a sociable time.

There are so many events in Europe where you can dance in the open air with great venues and without the licence restrictions in force in Ibiza that I think there are just far better options for that. Just a shame we can't still "have it all" like the old days. But it's a small island and we can't !!

You're right on the closings thing though - you have to expect some ramming and grief .. this year was just a reminder why I generally go at other times. That said, Sankeys was OK (late announcement no doubt kept numbers manageable), so was Blue Marlin (timing it to co-incide with Space kept numbers down naturally) and Space final hours were great as enough people had flaked out and left to keep the experience good). It was just DC-10 I couldn't find a way around keeping manageable for the bit I wanted to be at.

I bet those final hours at DC-10 were awesome and big up for hacking it though to enjoy them. You definitely earned it :) !!

Or it could be due to the fact it is the only place in the North that's providing excellent lineups almost every single weekend between now and new year.
