Circoloco closing

I dont know about this "go there to be seen" thing. If you mean go there because they've heard its the best party then sure , why not. we've been telling people on this website that for years! Are people who arent sure what the music is like or might be over dressed not allowed to check it out too?
Personally I havnt seen that many people posing around not dancing or trying to lord it up Pacha style , been too busy dancing myself!

The last 2 hours of circoloco closing were FANTASTIC! Ask anyone who was there until the end... the music was amazing!

Of course it's going to be crowded, and there were some points between 3-5 that were just ridiculously crowded and aggresive inside and the music was a bit meh..., but it is a closing party.!

Everyone I talked to who stayed until the end and anyone I was dancing with until the end agreed the last 2 hours were the best by far!

Totally worth it!!!:) 8)
She Lives!

They tend to leave pretty sharpish when they take a look around, Minimarc - still way outnumbered and often overheard near the entrance area where we lung fumigators sometimes mill about haha

Or it could be due to the fact it is the only place in the North that's providing excellent lineups almost every single weekend between now and new year.

Maybe that too I guess  ... not enough good lineups to accommodate the number of people.. that's what's behind it all then !! So Ibiza and Manchester have more in common than first thought :?::o

It really has become more of 'the place to be seen' listening to Jamie Jones and the like...

I would rather catch him somewhere else and enjoy it, be able to go to the bar and loo when I want...

This is true. Some of my best nights this year (see heros / zeros thread) have been DC10 residents playing elsewhere, e.g. Tanzmann @ Pacha, Jamie Jones / Seth Troxler @ Kehakuma/Space etc.

i had a ****ing great time, totally surprised by the space in the centre of the garden at 11pm, could literally swing a cat.

i'd say 90% of the people who moan about dc10 (or other clubs) being busy base this on arriving at 9pm on an average monday and leaving at midnight. long may they keep coming and missing the best parts, at the start and most pertinently at the end.

what are we gonna do with mondays until next summer?

So who saw Ben Klock and how good was he? :p

Yes mate - he was on in the main room and playing a cracking set, a far cry from Jamie outside who was not having a good night.

It was just too hot in there that night tho' .. normally can manage OK even when getting drenched in sweat but had got the point of near pass-out from it as was taking so long to get hydration from the bar. On any regular night this would have been a highlight of my trip.

There are so many events in Europe where you can dance in the open air with great venues and without the licence restrictions in force in Ibiza that I think there are just far better options for that. Just a shame we can't still "have it all" like the old days. But it's a small island and we can't !!

This will sound like a moan as I still have not done my review (Can't stop for clients) but if there was one gripe it would be the sold out or not be in Ibiza!

We can't have it all though can we.... 8)

Glad do many have commented on DC10, i thought it was just me getting older, lol.

We arrived at 5pm, had to wait around 25 minutes then headed to the garden. We spent most of our night there & obviously it got busier but nothing I couldn't handle. Moved into the terrace around, 11.15pm. Totally different story in there, rammed is an understatement but it seemed the crowd where just a lot more aggressive. Lasted until then end of Cassy's set & headed back outside.

Jones & Troxler weren't up to much in my opinion. I saw Seth Troxler B2B with Craig Richards a few weeks ago in a barn up the north of Scotland (Sunday Circus) & it has to be said up there as one of my best :D A few friends went to Kehakuma closing on the Thursday (which they got in for free) & said Jones absolutely smashed it.

After reading your comments about Space Closing I am no kicking my self i did not make it after Amnesia in order to stay fresh for DC10

All in all the closing parties are something i guess you need to do, but i never expected them (apart from Amnesia) to be as busy as August. I had an amazing time at Circo loco in August :p though so all was not lost.

but it seemed the crowd where just a lot more aggressive

God, we are all after a moan, but the only thing I do totally agree with this season, and will have a moan about, is that things have been more agressive (in IBZ as a whole). Numbers are UP UP UP this year, it was a very LONG hot summer, and a lot of nights were busier than they have been for many a year.....

Some of the agression is being blamed on a 'non-Ibiza' crowd, e.g. nights at MTV @ Amnesia (see Ibiza Voice article), but there is most def a new Ibiza crowd.... but these new crowds come and go with the passing of a fad....

With a Financial Disaster (Part Deux) about to come our way, things may not be as crazy next year!

Do we think the new legislation on Environmental health officers at all clubs with over 250 people will stop the crowding? Or, like the smoking ban, it won't be policed!

If you moaners be wiser with the arrival time you shouldn't experience such problems as mentioned.
I arrived at around 17:00 and had NO QUE at all, thus entered right away!
Started my way off in the terrace and in the garden area and then did rounds between the inside and the terrace.
Yes it got packed at around midnight on the terrace but not unbareable.
No one shoved or bumped into me (and i'm not a big guy), and i felt no agressiveness whatsoever!
Suddenly at around 3:30am i look at the watch and i see its actually 3:30am while more than 10 hours had passed since i arrived - 10 hours which seemed like 2 hours max!
I had a great time - DC10 is still one of the best clubs in Ibiza and that closing party a few days ago was off the hook!
SEE YOU NEXT SUMMER! 8)

I agree with what fusion is saying, but there was no way I could make it until ten pm, and needed to get my wristband by then anyway.

Thats why we had a disco nap, and then got up at 5am to go to Space, as there was noway I wanted to battle the crowds like I did a few years ago for Space opening. This paid off, and I had one of my best Ibiza experiences yet. It was like a dream dancing in Space in the morning again, and so glad the other half got to see it.

But, I wont go on about it... I appreciate that its the closing parties and that they get bloody busy... over selling and no crowd control is BOUND to make for some feisty customers. Im not surprised there were so many attitudes in there.

Im just glad we decided enough was enough and got out of there. But... am also glad some people had a good time otherwise a line up like that is just a waste!!!!

Fusion, you obviously have a helpful tolerance of very crowded environments - and also tolerance for staying in one club for long periods of time. Both of these things (along with bolshy security) can prove a turn-off for other people. But really glad you enjoyed it.

Like everything it is a matter of personal taste and perception. The crowd for me was way too diverse for the music and some of the behaviour which you were lucky enough not to have been around and witnessed was shameful. The atmosphere when I was there was just lame compared to how amazing it had been in August, and that was a disappointment.

I don't think it's helpful to blame party-goers for not having a good time, thereby overlooking all negative aspects of a club night. It's healthy to look at both the good and the bad so that people can decide whether something is a good fit for them. For me, you can have the best line-up in the world but if the mood feels wrong the party isn't a good one.

It is not a case of being wiser with arrival times if you do not want to be at a party that long. I for one was drawn by the post-midnight lineup and had to arrive way earlier than I wanted to at 10pm. Partly because it was the last big party going, there was nowhere else left to absorb the partygoers and was going to have to be managed from an organizational point of view.

If entry after 2am was possible for the final hours I am sure I would have had a better time. As it stands it wasn't and the couple of hours I was there were awful (imo). Just wasn't bothered to stick it out through all that waiting for it to improve. Hence conclusion these closing sessions with those entry restrictions not for me these days. But they are obviously are good for others so enjoy.

apologies to Kimajy, McRackin, Sophie and anyone else that i was an enormous mess in front of...

i'm still here in San Antonio so i'll keep this quick and i'll try my very best to write some kind of attempt at remembering what went on when i get back on Saturday...

Pikes was amazing, Blue Marlin was a lot better than i thought it was gonna be stuck away down there in the middle of nowhere and Space for Carl Cox on Monday morning....

well, OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O8O:D:D

i'll write the rest when i get as i'm away to the Curry Club to stuff my face...:lol:

Let's not forget a lot of people there will probably have had little or no sleep and be "kranky" at best :?

 - he lives :p:p:p .. my lips are sealed, mate !! You were by no means the biggest mess we witnessed these closings .. think the prize goes to the lad at Circoloco in the depths of a K-hole being carried out by 4 security by his arms and legs, tongue lolling out to the side ... just like the logo  !!

Had a great time with you and really sorry about the i-phone - bummer :!: Still can't work out how it took us over 2 1/2 hours to get from Blue Marlin to Space (which can't be more than 15 minutes away) and your losing battle with a fruit plate at Nassau Beach Club was nothing short of epic ..

You missed a great party in a former San An brothel on Tuesday night tho' 8O;) as we couldn't find you .. it was one which didn't make it onto the pre-/after-party listings :o ... inuendo and tantalizing allusions may follow ... or maybe not :lol:

Hope the cycling is going great and look forward to hearing all about "what happened next" :p

Tuesday was something else!!!! All I can remember was insisting those Romanian hookers were russian and trying to speak to them... then inviting them all to the wedding... oh dear.

I got there nice and early at like 4:30 and the crowd was fine. But by 10pm it was horrible and after that was even worse, completely ruined the party. It was probably the most crowded, pushy, sweaty party I've ever been to. They really need to keep better tabs on the door next year.

My two cents

The lasted time I posted on this forum was regarding the same night last year...

Could not agree more with this. My crew had been also been diminished from ten people to two by about 5am (flights to catch). I was on the verge of leaving myself when things seemed to change on the terrace. I felt like this was it, this was a party and I was meant to be there. I did question whether I was just coming up again but I definitely wasn't, the only thing keeping me there was the tangible atmosphere in that room. 'The best two hours of Ibiza 2010'...for me the best two hours of clubbing I have experienced anywhere in the World. The sit down for 'M.in - Sing and Blow at the same time' was spot on, so many smiling faces. Tanzmann, Squillace and the punch of that sound system absolutely obliterated it, it was the night I got DC10. I am literally worried I will never get to feel that way in a club ever again. Amazing night, amazing weekend, amazing island.

See you next year!

I did go back this year, in June, post Sonar and it was a great day followed by Ricardo B2B Carola at Cocoon, a great night.

Unfortunately, due to work I was unable to do a proper closing session and had to settle with flying out just for DC10, one night only! If it was half as good as last year then it had to be worth...and it was, but only just.

I arrived at 3:30, straight from the airport and straight into the garden to find Soul Clap rocking it. Sit downs, sunshine and happy people, things were looking good! Not long after they finished we moved inside (DJ W!LD played a decent set in the main room) then onto the terrace, having been last year we knew how busy it was going to be so thought we would plot up somewhere on the Terrace and stay there for the long haul. Moving about a lot was never going to be an option.

Then, as expected...it got busy. Absolutely rammo. Not sure if it was busier than last year but the main difference this year was the arrival of aggression! Everywhere. I have never seen so much aggro in all my times combined in Ibiza. Ranging from people regularly plowing through the crowd elbows flying to full on fist fights. I think a lot of this might have been down to how people were treated on the door, there was a total lack of control. I think alot of people had a negative door experience and this seemed to continue throughout the evening. At one point, when queuing for the toilets (around 1:00), I saw the bouncers link arms in the Entrance tunnel (to the main room from outside) and just charge the crowd in the door way. People went flying. This is totally unacceptable. After this they blocked this entrance for at least an hour. A lot of my friends were stuck outside and had to leave.

What kept me there was the music (Cassy particularly and the second half of Zip B2B Ricardo) and the company I was with. I don't think I spoke to anybody I didn't know from home or had previously met on the island. The atmosphere was just as tangible as last year but unfortunately not in the right way. I'm sure there were pockets of happy people in the room but in general the vibe was bad, a first for me in Ibiza. I left about 5am, I would have chilled outside for a while and come back inside but that was not guaranteed because of the ever changing door policies.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who had some issues with the evening and still had a very enjoyable time. A missed flight home made this a very expensive 'one night only trip' but luckily the nice vibe at the after party and an excellent meal at La Brasa (Ibiza Town) all helped to soften the blow.

I can't personally comment on any other parties but the general consensus of my friends seems to be Monza was the pick of the bunch from the final week of closings.

Sorry for the ridiculously long post...see you next year!
