Glad to see that everyone seems to be ok. Was a very scary morning by all accounts. The southbound northern line trains were running extremely slow this morning, we were told there had been a power cut at several stations. The train I was on was sat in Mornington Crescent for about 20mins, no word of what was going on. Finally they opened the doors and told us that the train would not be moving, but we could get out of the station using the stairs. I decided to get out of the tube and walk to work (Charing X).
As I walked down past Euston and Kings Cross, it was clear that something wasn't right. Kings X was totally cordoned off, police and fire engines everywhere. I presumed a train had caught fire/crashed... something like that.
I was trying to call my work to tell them I'd be late, but my mobile was not working at all, as I was dialling the number again, a huge explosion went off about 50 yards in front of me on a bus. I saw debris flying up in the air, and it was like a huge orange flash. Everyone around me screamed and we all started running back in the opposite direction. I ran up to Regents Park as I thought that would be the safest place.
I was trying to call Jon to see if he was ok but couldnt get through for ages. I was so scared as to what was going to happen, I didnt know whether I should try and walk back into London, or try and get a cab home. Eventually I decided to walk to Jon's work to make sure he was ok, which is where I am now. I can't face going into work today, I just want to go home but obviously there's no way of getting there.
To think I was going to get a bus from Euston down to my work, but I didn't get on because they were too packed. Just makes you think doesn't it
