Apparently, its on gmtv that theres been an explosion, but I havent heard anything, theres been police sirens all all morning, and I saw a load of police on my way standing in a certain area, all in bullet proof vests, and the dog section had just turned up

BBC website reporting that there was a bang on metropolitan line between liverpool street and aldgate.

Power surge/outage or something on the Underground, possibly a collision.

Ambulances have turned up, but it's more for people with minor injuries (lightweights)

Aldgate east and Kings Cross (not sure why?!) have been evacuated.

If anyone wants to perform any major crimes unheeded, I suggest they do it now, as the entire Met force is getting a look in at Liverpool St.

EXPLOSION AT LIVERPOOL STREET STATION

There has been an explosion at a central London tube station.

The blast happened at Aldgate East station on the Metropolitan and Circle Lines.

It is understood the blast was caused by two trains colliding, a power cut or a power cable exploding.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."

British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".

"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.

"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."

King's Cross, Liverpool Street, Stratford and Aldgate stations have also been cleared.

Or a coordinated terrorist attack!
(probably the French... a little bit bitter about yesterday)

Sh*t....loads of news coming in thick and fast...all tubes closed, some trains still stuck in tunnels.

No one knows cause! :-/

Second incident at Edgware...

It's going to be a slow day today in the office...

Theres so much police around Edgeware St its mad.
Office is half empty.

Woman being interviewed talking about an explosion and lots of screaming, people clambering from wreckage covered in soot...

...no confirmation on whether it's a bomb yet.

A bus has exploded as well. This looks coordinated.

Explosions at 5 tube stations now, though they're still saying power surge.

The incident occurred at 0751 GMT between Liverpool Street and Aldgate tube
stations, the City of London's press office said.
"The entire tube network is closed," said Lesley Mair, press officer for the
City of London.
At least some people have been wounded, but no numbers were yet available,
Mair said.
"The original call we got this morning was to the Liverpool Street station,"
said Allison Kerry, communications officer for the London Ambulance Service.
"Since then, there are other locations that we are in attendance. We're not
clear at this stage as to what's caused this. We've sent out lots of
ambulances to various central London locations, and we're working with other
London emergency services," she said.
