Lets argue another day eh?

Today is not the day to be on the wind up. Grrrr.

then stop posting up rumours.

this thread is full of 'rumours'. over the course of time they will be confirmed or proven to be rumours.

if rob is happy with the reliability of his source then his post is as valid as the rest on this very speculative thread!

Thanks Stuie! ;) My point exactly...nice to have you back by the way - hope all is well?

...It would seem we can scrap the rumour now, it would've made the news by now after all.

The underground called a power surge because they thought there was one, not because they wanted to prevent panic. The initial explosion caused the breakers to blow which is normally attributed to a surge. They made the announcement before they had confirmation that it was a bomb and a possible series of attacks. As soon as they had confirmation all cars were called into stations, they then made the decision to let people out of the station. You cant expect system to instantly identify the crisis and indeed a series of attacks.

The stuff about a police sniper shooting a suicide bomber at canary wharf is bullshit. Obviously we have a right to know whats going on but when people make uninformed decisions because they are prompted for answers then there's bound to be speculation. This has a knock on effect of causing an increased level of hysteria. Watching the news at 10:30 it was as though there were more and more explosions after the bus yet infact it was ill informed reports.

:?

today isn't the day for forum bickers chewie ;)

i'm sure Rob was just looking for some confirmation and not trying to scare people in the city (which is where he is, isn't it? )

Rob - i'm fine thanks, will pm you ;)

Just walked through my front door, and never been so pleased to be home. Manged to get a train from Fenchurch, although extremely busy, c2c are handling/helping commuters very well.

Hope everyone else gets home safely.

Bec, so glad you're ok x

Glad you're home and safe Leese.

I know what you mean, I just want to get home to Tom and my pups ;) Altho I've realised that even when I get home I can't get in cos I didn't bring my keys today cos was meant to be going to Jamies after work for birthday meal and then Tom picking me up later - doh

got this off another board

f*** me what a day!

Things were weird on the way into work, as i got to Mile End the District line was closed, as we arrived at Bethnal Green it was announced that Liverpool Street and Bank were closed due to a power failure.

I finally got turfed off the train at Chancery Lane at about 9.15 am as the entire Central line was shut down apparently due to a "power failure".

I called my boss and told them i was going to be late and made my way down to Holborn to get a bus to Regents Park.
Got on the 91 bus towards Euston and as we were going up the road LOADS of police started racing past us towards Russell Square tube.
I kind of assumed there'd been a security alert but that it was a false alarm as it always is.

Just as we pulled into Tavistock Place we got stuck in traffic and sat there for a while. There was another bus 200 yards away from us coming the other direction.
All of a sudden our bus shook like it had been hit and then a massive noise, as i looked forward i just saw the roof of the other bus fly into the air and crash down in front of it.

At least 2 people looked dead.
There were loads of people laid out in the gardens and many more walking wounded screaming for help.

I'm just grateful we got stuck in traffic and weren't beside the bus that blew up.

Just walked home for 4hrs as all the transport was f***ed.

Anyone trying to get out of London tonight i'd recommend walking to Zone 2/3 and getting a bus from there.

a fair point, raised on page 12 of this thread.

has anyone confirmed the canary wharf incident yet?

if only sky/bbc/itv were as concerned about hysteria as you are chewie ;)

to all the london spotlighters - i hope you get home safely and have a trouble free evening ;)

Had a mad day too. my mum and dad picked yesterday of all dyas to visit london from liverpool and i couldn't get hold of them all day. finally spoke to my dad at 1 pm and he was sittin in liverpool st station at 9am waitin to buy a ticket when to train blew just outside it. they were left sitting in the station as it was initially thought only to be a surge then suddenly they were evacuated. i was shocked when he told me that he then got a bus to tower bridge none the wiser only there to be told what was goin on. he then had to walk back into the chaos as there hotel is only 50 yards from the station.

Glad that your mum and dad are safe and well FMSM :D It must have been horrible trying to contact them earlier.
