Another Girlie Thread

I couldn't live without a little eyeliner and mascara!!

What does everyone use? At the mo I use three!! Christian Dior, Clinque and Lancome one!!!

I am the same always have to have mascara and eyeliner. I look really washed out otherwise I think unless I have a tan and its a diff story

I am after a really good liquid eyeliner, see one by Chanel that meant to be good but bit pricey

Do you have any friends that are good at applying make-up etc?

I find that the make-up artists in the department stores just want you to buy as many products as possible therefore you walk out the shop wearing eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, blusher, lippy, lip liner etc etc. therefore looking indeed like a drag queen!

   That's what I'm scared of 8O I had the option to get a make-up artist to come and do my make-up for me on the wedding day but I just had visions of having layers and layers of make-up slapped on me so I thought getting some hints and then doing it myself would be the best option.

I have tried loads I always try the new ones that are out or on offer.

I only use the cheapy brands though, at the mo I got the Rimmel one Kate Moss is advertising and surprisingly enough its the first one I have used that does actually make them look like the advert!

I noramlly use Rimmel, Max Factor, L'oreal for day but I am after a nice dramatic one for night/going out.

I always used to use liquid but prefer a pencil one now! Got a Barry M one which is really good!

I'd also say a gel one is better than liquid :D Guerlain is a good one bit pricey though!

I used a really good liquid one from Bourjois but I want one that lasts for ages and looks quite neat looking. Also a steady hand is needed

Whats the difference between gel and liquid?

I have a good pencil from No7 It has a smudger on the end for the smoky look eyes but I too scared to try it yet

The thing I hate most is when people I know say something like "oh, youve got make-up on!".....I hate that! Looking different and not yourself is not what I think make-up is for! 8O God, I sound like Im a frigging make-up artist or something when I dont actually have a clue! I´ll shut up! But you get what Im bangin on about¿!:?

Ruby & Millie / Stila have some really nice make-up which I think is nice for the summer I find.:D

Yeah as in you usually look dog rough

Babs you are having the same dilemma I did. To have someone else do my make up or not. Years ago I had a make-up lesson and colours thing at Dickins & Jones which was great and the charge is redeemable against any products you buy. They also use all products so you are stuck with one particular brand.

For the wedding I had a makeover at MAC. It looked great in the store but didn't last more than a few hours and then the eyes smudged quite a bit. I had another at Space NK which wasn't great. Just over a week before the wedding I popped into John Lewis on Oxford Street to pick up some bits and I really liked the way the girl behind the Clinique counter had her eyes. I asked her to do the same on my eyes (no, she didn't punch them  ) and I liked it so much I asked her if she was free the following Sunday to do my makeup for my wedding. After some arm twisting she did it. It was very, very natural.

The only reason I decided to choose someone was becuase of the photographs. I'm really happy with the way I do my own makeup but on film it looks very different and the makeup girls know which parts to "touch up" for the camera. I found they used lots of light reflecting makeup.

In Ibiza I think if it were me, I'd do my own ;)

Sorry for the rambling post :p
