Amnesia closing party!

told ya!!

without being able to hear and feel the bass and be in the middle of it when it kicks, the vids are pretty meaningless. but the chaos in the booth gives a good indication as to what the vibe is like.......

...there is a guy who i know in there who works a pot washer in a pizzeria in ibiza town. he said he just walked into the booth and stood there right in the middle of it.........in case you hadn't already guessed that DJ booths were full of nobodies. (all the cool people are on the dancefloor remember!;))

That does look ****ing mental, love Johny Golden (i think) dancing on the booth :D

i have to disagree on this.i recognize some of them and there are mostly amnesia/cocoon people & friends.
Cocoon's dj booth was the place that most would like to be and at the same time the most difficult to get in amongst Amnesia nights.

of course i didn't mean it literally......;) it was funny seeing people who work in the amnesia office by day in there or from one of the shops.

cocoon is sometimes different because they control it. but it was so much easier than you think to just walk in there. on sunday, anyone who had the balls to just stride in there, was in, no questions asked.

i agree being in the booth is a good experience but it doesn't compare one bit to being in the middle of the action.

the main room at amnesia is worse, which is why many of the DJs hate playing it, you feel like a muppet, when its all about dancing to the music! :D

Yello Oh yeah was the tune of the day for me! Watch everyone going "Chika Chika" was good fun! Where can I get this mix from? Was awesome!

1 Question.....This was my first Amnesia closing and blew me away. But the way everyone is talking like this was a one of super dooper event.....is Amnesia closing not this good every year or did I just luck out this year?

PS so over Sapce moving their closing party the week before! Think im pretty much over Space as a club though still love a good daytime boogie there.

mate, i've been to amnesia closing in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and it was ALWAYS mindblowing. richie hawtin and ricardo villalobos in 2007 (after marco carola had played a 5hr set because hawtin and villalobos arrived late), then hawtin and villalobos dropping the enfant chant and yeke yeke...2008 sven väth playing (after a gread set from dubfire!) for 5hrs, playing everything from "music sounds better with you" to trancey stuff to "after love" from shlomi aber etc...

if there's only 1 party i can choose to do a year it always will be amnesia closing. i have never found such an energy on a dancefloor before like on amnesia terrace between 9am and 3pm on the closing day.

i'm still buzzing about amnesia closing......

i feel like a kid waking up on FA cup final day about to get the coach to wembley!

only difference is you can put this one in the confirmed calendar, because next year it will be just the same.

the difference this year i noticed from previous years is that the entry policy was strict till a lot later (i.e. in previous years, you just put a tip in a box on entry) and also this year it was so much busy right throughout the daylight hours, party because of the fact space closed earlier i think.

i can't stress enough to anyone thinking of going though, not to make the mistake of going there at 1/2am and bailing out before it's really got going. go to bed, get some sleep and arrive box fresh!!:D

And it was 5 days ago  Did you make DC10 :?:

I'm 100% there with you next year dude (Not the bed part like) !! Does the opening compare, and when is that normally mate :?:

Reason being I'm there for the weekend of the 5th June for Gary's stag.

Please forgive me for being dull here but when you say tip the box.... is this in addition to buying a ticket? is the tip because you have turned up at such a late hour? Im thinking of going for it next year and having not been before I wouldnt want to risk turning up in the morning and not getting in.

I must admit the idea of going there first thing feeling fresh as a daisy sounds amazing 8)

last year, after about 6 or 7, the door closed (i.e. you couldn't buy an official ticket) but you could still easily gain entry, either by walking in and not paying or by paying a tip on your way in.

this year, the door was still very much open (until when i don't know, at least 10).

don't worry, you can always get in.:D

honestly, walking into that atmosphere 100% ok, you notice how special the atmosphere is.

did space this year but may have to try amnesia next year...even though i said i wouldnt go back to ibiza as im saving money!

I can not believe they dropped the Ferris Bueler tune...beyond legendary!

True, anybody could walk in the dj booth for Amnesia closing.
Cocoon have more control over it.

Reason being I'm there for the weekend of the 5th June for Gary's stag.

the opening's also pretty cool and usually also goes on till about noon, but still it's not comparabale to the closing party groove (also, there are never any big name dj's playing at the opening). believe me, amnesia closing is an unique experience.

re opening date, i guess next year will be either june 5 or 12...

Sweet.locked in!....have to agree with Grego re still buzzing. I only booked to go to Ibiza last tuesday i.e. 2 days before because Ive been on a couple of hols this yr and to beefa for last 4 yrs so thght a break might do me good....but closings have always been my dream so damn glad I did.

Havent been clubbing much in Ldn lately and probs wont for a while after that as will be hard to beat. Seeing so many people smiling, going nuts. I stepped on some Brazilian guys leg. He got really angry and thought it was going to kick off. I smiled at him and said chill. next thing you know he is hugging me, saying sorry for getting upset and going off to buy me a drink! For me that is what the good vibe is about in a nutshell. We exchanged numbers so now I have a place to crash in Salvador!

Also still laughing about one incident. My mate was introduced to this Argentinian guy by this Colombian girl we had met. He said that it is custom to swap t-shirts when you meet someone. So he got my mates trendy v neck and in exchange gave my mate a horrible green tshirt about 5 sizes too big but thought it was only for a bit. Next thing you know we cant see the guy anywhere. Colombian girl gets a text saying he went home, leaving my mate in the Green Tshirt for most of the morning looking like the biggest geek in ibiza. Was one of this silly, have to be there only in ibiza incidents.
